Bought my 16 TRD Off Road a few weeks ago and have been adding a few things here and there.

The last owner apparently slid out of this thing with his heels digging into the door sills and caused some pretty nasty scratches in the driver door sill, everytime I opened the door the scratches were there staring at me.

I know it isn’t the flashiest or coolest mod out there, but it is by far the most practical for me right now!

Bought the OEM door sill protectors and they arrived today so I hurriedly put them on and am ecstatic with how much better it looks now!

Look for vinyl inserts for your door sill protectors

I saw those, I’m going with the all black look though, none of the colors interested me

I wonder if the previous owner who posted about the scratching on TTE's facebook page asking how to prevent it. He got pissed when I told him to lift his hoof over the damned door sill.

They fit my 16 double cab perfectly. Amazons fit guides can be whacky

Damn! And I thought those protectors didn't do anything. What a difference in your case OP!

Yeah I have those and they are a cheap but valuable option. $45 or so.

Agreed. Probably would have been my first mod. This would bug me everytime I opened the door.

I wonder if it was the bottom door hitting that part of the body and not the person getting in and out. Interesting....

I wondered that too, but it was only in the area where the feet slide out, if it was the door I would think it would be the length of the entire door sill
