Just as title says. Wondering if anyone has successfully had these tightened at dealership under warranty.

Get yourself 20 torx bit, a breaker bar and do it yourself. Then you know it's done and done right.

Yep. I found this thread. I told the service scheduled at the dealer about the wear. She told me she only heard about it affecting 2012s. Smh. Then they charged me to tighten the bolt, even though I told her I didn’t think it was a loose bolt but the bed wearing. I asked about my extended warranty covering the bed “failure”. They blew me off. I’ll be back next week for some warranty work and poke at them again.

Oops sorry you are right now I'm trying to remember the size as I had to buy one for the bed reinforcements. But hey we all make mistakes I believe.

Here you go OP sorry for the confusion on size, but again I guess some people make mistakes and others don't. Looks like a 55 and 40 Torx Bit.

I’m not sure if the exact size but it’s probably a T55

If they are loose I would recommend pulling them out and putting some blue locktite on the threads and reinstalling. Just don’t over do it

There is definitely a gap after they tightened the bed bolts on the forward passenger side bolt. ~3/16”

If they do anything, I bet that they do the improper repair by grinding down the steel sleeve. Buy a torx bit and fix it yourself the correct way.

Probably T55 lol, but yeah, just get a set and do it on your own. While you're at it, install some thread-lock if it truly is loosening up

Last year my bed started to rattle, on the passenger side. I though it was the dreaded bed design flaw.

I brought into the dealer as I was still under warranty, and they 're-torqued' the bed bolts. He said 2 were loose.

It has not started to rattle again since they fixed it.
