What is the largest tire I can go that is still good for both off roading or highway on a stock Gen3 Tacoma Pro?

In general 265/75/16 which is 1” larger in diameter and does not rub. If you like the “pizza cutter” type tire you can fit 255/85/16, which is about 3” larger in diameter, but much skinnier than stock.

Best bet would be same size as what’s on it with a more aggressive tread. Maybe if stock is 265 65 16 try 275 70 or 75. There are plenty of threads on this but you can make your truck look good with stock size tires and an aggressive tread.

I put 265/75-16 and no rubbing at all. I do off road a bit. If you want looks, some people have gone 285's with no rubbing. Not sure off roading though.

Seems to be a bunch of clutter on that site. Do they have a search function?

I have become a fan of taller instead of wider.

Me too. I’ve never found any specific benefit in wider tires. I’ve gotten solid traction with less than 285s in most conditions. With rocks it might be up in the air if more rubber will give better pull on a crawl.

For me, I hate to admit it was looks first, but now with all the bro trucks with stretched out off-road tires I just think it looks like shit. Not that mine are stretched but just MT on a 20” rim looks like shit now.

Put some spacers on there and the sky is the limit.

Currently have 285's on the 16in trd pro wheels on a OME lift kit. Still rub pretty good every time I go offroad or even over some speed bumps. I will prob go the 255/85 route next time.

Also when making this decision look through these threads a bit. These are my favorite.
