This was a build I did with my boy Andrew (bx_built). When I first saw this headlight I knew I wanted to mess with it. We ended up going with a full Morimoto d2s kit and xkglow sequential switchback led tube to go with my turn signal. We blacked everything out also. Your work looks amazing, and the satisfaction that you did it yourself and save a ton of cash has to be a good feeling!

 

Went to Toyota to buy two DRL bulb sockets. They had one, one had to be ordered.
I replaced the one that was giving me issues, the driver side. The bulb fit tight and the light works as it should now.
Replacing the other side just for piece of mind.

Both the shark fin and this stubby antenna are XM radio only. My gps still worked when the shark fin was unplugged.

Has anyone played with the TacomaBeast DRL for the 2005+ style light? How about even putting in LEDs.
Not sure how good the output is on those.

 

As far as modifying the depo projector headlights for our trucks, I haven’t seen anyone do it. I know there were a lot of questions or ideas. If you need any info on mine just ask away

I found mine dropped in from the top of the lower mount.

 

Might be one of the best looking 2nd gens I've laid eyes on.
Edit: Might have to do the front end swap on my 07 so I can run those headlights... I mean I'm in Alabama so there's zero chance we run into each other, right? LOL
Edit2: Actually just saw I DON'T have to do the swap... I was looking at the other lights a few posts down/up... those are super smooth.

 

Adjusted my rock lights. One was bad, so I removed it and moved my lights around. One of my fog lights was starting to come lose so I tightened it back up. Also, I did a walk around and under the truck doing some cursory checks after driving off-road this past weekend.

 

Anyone have phone mounting solutions for a 2014?

 

A few have done the a-pillar ram mount mod. I installed the Bird Dog Industries TechDeck.
