why not? I beat the shit out of my truck and keep bending the washers on my control arms. Plus I got them local for $60.

 

I've just not seen that mod is why I asked. What's involved with the install?

 

Just prepping for the zombie apocalypse.

 

Not much honestly, take off coilovers, upper control arm, Loosen the brake lines and wiring and move out of the way. Clean up the frame and fit the brackets. They didn’t fit perfect with my jba upper control arms so I took a little material off. Then I used the 3/16 thick washers on the inside of the control arms, (they usually use 1/16 thick washers) so I had to take a little material off the factory sleeve that runs through the coil bucket and boom perfect fit.

 

Damn! I'm salivating....what the heck...mouth hasn't watered this much since seeing Deauxma for the first time years ago!

I feel the same way. If it were my 2nd I'd beef it up all the way, but this is my daily. So, I'm gonna do a modest overland build so I can still fit in the garages at work and still have decent gas mileage. Don't get me wrong guys...I didn't buy it for the great gas mileage (sarcasm), but it was a great replacement for my FJ Cruiser. RIP.

Yes, I have an MX4. The top of the bracket fits behind the rail. Remove the 4 small screws holding the accessory rail and it's out of the way. This really is a very simple mod and may seem much more intimidating than it is. The nice thing about the way this is mounted is that the rails play no part in the installation. The only real drawback is that the sliding factory tiedowns are limited in their use. You can see that in the pic. That's not really an issue though because you can still use T-nuts with d-rings or eye bolts for your tie downs on the lowered rails.

This install will be much easier to understand once I get time to disassemble it to repaint the brackets. It really is an easy mod once you see the steps taken.
So easy a caveman could do it........, really! The infamous rivet nut tool is the key.

Jeff if you're reading this you're going to wonder how you ever managed to get through life without one. Mounting things in your Tacomas bed or anywhere you can't get a nut (here it comes) never got easier! Using rivet nuts is far superior to using jack nuts.

Honest folks a rivet nut tool is well worth owning and they are not that expensive. First time you use it you will be convinced that it was a legitimate purchase and worth having around.

Quick question, I just installed the hood led's and I keep blowing fuses, any suggestions?

It looks like that switch is supposed to be an inline positive, and not grounded?

I put the original 5amp fuse and it blew, 10 amp and it blew also. I don't think this is wrong as when I first put it together it worked. After I woke up to take more photos it blew. Weird.

 

haha, it came out pretty good I’m super happy with it. I was mainly just bored and figured since my shocks are getting tuned I might as well do something productive.

 

What’s the watts on the led? Also I would do it as a ground switch instead of on the power wire.
