Those look super nice. Having the pair would help it compress more evenly and being short "claws" would help it not bend. Will definitely keep that in mind next time.

    Thanks!

yeah it does. The actual bar itself doesn’t bend either. And they take virtually no strength to compress them. I need to buy a pair but I rented them from autozone

Take a deep breath, have a plan on how you want it done (including room for expansion in the future), take your time, and enjoy it - it's A LOT of work, but in the end it will all be worth it!

Your GROUND IS CRITICAL!! Make sure you get solid, clean ground, AND you must make an effort to always use the same ground point whenever possible. If you cut corners with the ground and start to half-ass it, bad ground can and WILL turn into an absolute nightmare!

This is a really good option:

Looking for opinions on new grille. Below are my current grille and the new one I bought. I think the new one should should be completely black. Another option would be to paint the bezel the same color as the Tacoma (Silver Sky Metallic) and the insert black. The color as is really doesn't work. I could plastidip it all black. What do ya'll think? I might also paint the bumper cover black.

good point grounds are most important...and that's a nice set up.....as with any 2 dis similiar metals there will be corrosion at some point, I wud assume for these a long time out, but something to check once in awhile.

Truck looks amazing my friend. At your current bed length, would a short bed camper shell fit? That would look gnarly.

Thanks man, and yes, it should. I need to double check measurements but I should be within 1" length of a short bed. A softopper would definitely fit since those are a littler more forgiving than a hard shell. For now I'm going to keep the bed open but we'll see if I can live with that. I like the dry storage a topper offers.

Chuck it or return it if you can. The hardware that attaches the center section will rust in no time and the plastic that they make them from is thin. The top section directly under the hood will warp and start to deform in ~6mo. I ended up taking mine off and putting the stock one back on after painting it.

I color matched my surround and left the grill insert the way it came for reference.

Some people think I'm crazy but I'm going by empirical evidence, it works for me. Just like anybody would plug their cell to charge, let's say, over night, I do the same with my Taco, when I go home for the night I plug her up to the wall. The NOCO GENM1 is a "smart charger" and is completely safe. Like with anything else in the interwebz, there will be 1,000 Nay-sayers, again this is what I have experienced first hand and it works great for me.

Also, use the voltage booster from Down-Under:

Looks good. Any issues with fit? How long have you had it?

I’ve tried but it made the job more difficult then it needed to be. I felt like I was going to bend it with the amount of pressure I needed to use to give it a good scrub. Plus I didn’t want overspray or runoff to get on the pint of the truck

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to try and mitigate the rust potential and give it a shot.
