Some stuff from the last couple days. Changed my spark plugs
Fixed cutting and modifying my RCI skid plate that i dented the shit out of last year at the Moses Lake dunes, changed out the front steel and cut it further back to get a little shallower approach angle.
Then Hole sawed some holes in my perfectly good Prinsu roof rack.
And then last night swapped out the garbage A.D.D. front tube for a FJ tube! now my 4wd should work again!!

Did you ever figure anything out with this? I went by a driveshaft place locally and the guy told me that a 1 piece on a long bed is not a good idea. He said that it would be weaker and have a bigger chance of it wobbling. I’m still dealing with a shudder at about 40 mph. Drives me nuts!

    Cool... thanks...

How was re-attching the flare to the body, on the under side, inside the well? Did you cut off the tabs (on the body) that the flare attaches to, under/ inside the flare? Do you have any pictures up under there?

I'm wondering how well the flares will stay attached if those tab things are not there or some are removed...

Did you reinstall the wheel well liners?

I’m about to buy an engine to replace my 2006 4.0 with a blown head gasket. Anyone know what other years will work? To my understanding a 12-15 uses a different header and some other pieces. But will a 07-11 engine swap in fine?

Ordered July 16, and arrived in the Yukon August 4. Considering the distance, and coming across the border, I am VERY happy! Already mounted a Plano case to it and went camping

Re-attaching the flare to the body was the easiest part. When taking off the flares there is a good chance you would break most (if not all) the tabs but they are cheap to buy (https://smile.amazon.com/ALLMOST-20...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GV99P6Y98E09ZMV5CY9W) You wouldn't come close to cutting the retaining clips on the body since they are at the top of the flare. I can PM you a pic of the underneath a little later if you would like.

I didn't reinstall my wheel liners because it was HOT as hell on Sunday but I did cut where the original tabs were on there for when/if I do decide to put them back on.

Also @Shmellmopwho has a really good write up how to do this on his build thread too here. Pretty much the same exact process I did but he did a much better job at cutting the tabs/body than I did with the angle grinder :anonymous: (thank god its hidden ) Also this thread has some info/pics on the process as well.

What plastic caps did you use to plug the fender holes? Interested in removing them when my BAMF front bumper comes in!

Went to see why the door check is making noise (rubbing on the window run channel). Couldn't see the cause so I'm going to assume that I need a new door check.

Yeah, that thread has good details. I sanded mine, didn’t need body filler. Primer. Color matched paint. And clear coat. Easy afternoon chore
