Did you replace the electrical connector with the heavy duty replacement from Toyota and resolder the wires?

If you're blowing through resistors that fast either you're not buying OEM or you have a melted short in the connector itself.

I had to replace my resistor and connector with the new style when it failed have not had any problems since.

I did use an OEM replacement resistor, didn't realise the connector needed to be replaced. I'll go to Toyota and get both.

    trying to keep stock
    Added air to the spare.

    One question.

I had to lower the spare with the tools provided but since the "hook" part of tool did not work I used the small end of the extension..that worked but am i missing something?

So I had a look at the connector this morning and when I moved the wiring for the connector the 2nd position of the fan started working, does this mean that the connector has gotten hot in the past and contact is intermitant and now needing a new connector?

Sounds like it, you might be able to see some of the wires are bulged or darkened in color where they enter the plug.

You could also pull the plug and see if the pin barrels are melted at all.
