@bobv1776 I think it definitely looks better than the standard tailgate without letter inserts!

In my case, I wanted a little contrast so I painted my insert letters and emblem overlays to match the 2021 TRD OR grill.

I also painted my Amazon-special TRD license plate frame to match since it was a horrible "carbon fiber" pattern when I got it.

If anyone is curious, RUST-OLEUM metallic Flat Soft Iron topped with Matte Clear Enamel is a very close match to the gunmetal color and satin finish of the 2020+ OR/Sport grill. Three coats of base color then five coats of clear is holding up really well to the salt and grime caked on the roads here in mid-winter Pennsylvania.

Curious if you have a pic of the door overlays painted?

edit: I just noticed you are in Pittsburgh also. I’ll have to keep an eye out for you in my travels. I had actually thought about doing this same thing, but hadn’t gotten motivated to try it yet.

edit: edit: Just looked at your media page and found the side shot. Truck looks great!

I know it’s pnp 18+ and pretty sure 16+ owners have installed pnp
huh, wasn’t expecting that honestly. I was thinking the gap was either not noticed or nobody cared. That was the headstrong provided bolts (ome53a)? Mine may be just an anomaly

Was standing on the bed cover, leaning on it with one hand and washing it with the other. Didn't think I was putting much weight on it but I was wrong. Dent is noticeable if you look for it but no-one will see it up there.

Yes, they were headstrong provided bolts. I think it may have to do with your aftermarket bumps.

Put on some new UCAs today, hopefully an alignment tomorrow. Would’ve been under an hour but Toyota obviously never intended for the control arms to come out. The bolt comes out right where the body is so you have to take vice grips and bend it out of the way. Added about 45 minutes and one beer to each side. All and all it was a four beer job.

Have the caps from Amazon. Turned color after about a month. They are bronze now. Still like them but don't bother with the amazon ones if you want them to stay black.

well yes the sumo bumps had a gap with the ome53a bolts (3/8”-1/2”) and the stock bolts (1/8”-1/4”)

the ome53a had gaps (1/8”-1/4”) on Stock bumps which obviously were flat with stock bolts so that takes the sumos out of the equation (in this instance) and leads to ome bolts as an issue straight out the gate.

Sumos are its own issue I haven’t addressed yet. In fact if you look at any sumos for sale and the pictures provided by seller you’ll notice paint flaked on the edges of the brackets (where the bolts rest) because that’s where the bolts rest/make contact and they don’t actually sit completely flat (my strong hypothesis). I’d image the bracket is the same as 2nd gen (if not universal) which would have the same issue. Now if it’s a big deal, I don’t know- the only info I could find was specifically stating bolts need to be flat on leafs or completely wrap the axle. Then sumos “engineer” gives ok to notch the brackets. Well, question, why wouldn’t you engineer the bracket a factory fit. Despite, I still plan on installing the sumos but 1st need to find bolts (which I do have on the way but the storm changed delivery from fri. To maybe tomorrow). I’d had hoped to install prior to a 6 hr dr to Orlando Thursday

Not looking forward to it. Coworker cut his and put them in reversed when he did his. Sounds like we have a tech off on Friday so I may go in early and use his lift to do the arms and play around with preload on the 5100’s and get rid of the big spacers up top.

Following Nitori's OEM SR Foglight Mod (pre-wired) to get the truck ready for a shop to install/aim SS3 Sport fogs and Morimoto XB Gen2 later this week. No shop was willing to take out the airbag and remove the wheel to swap the switch, so I took care of that tonight. Made a short post to add some more info to Nitori's instructions if anyone is interested or thinking of doing it themselves. The install was actually really simple, the "hardest" part for me was being sure the airbag was safely removed/handled since it's my first time doing that.

Comparison of factory switch from the SX trim vs. the part specified in the instructions:
