Biggest thing u have to worry about is a warranty void .lots of here with it and have no issues causing engine problems who knows what the long run effect is .

    1. I have a 2020 as well. A significant improvement was felt.
    2. I believe it is worth it if you don't like the way the truck currently drives.
    3. There is always risk using other's pre-made tunes. I have a spreadsheet where I import the data from the tune file and graph out certain data points until I feel that everything is good or not conflicting in any way. I wouldn't worry about warranty though, it's undetectable by the dealerships.

Reach out to @PapaRee and see if he can help you out - better off to have it flashed and save the cash an entire set-up would cost you IMO. I ran it until jumping into the SC and had no problems over the entire time. GL.

It’s a notable change, not “night and day” so set your expectations reasonably.

I would say my truck drives 70% better overall with 2.0 premium fuel.

not trying to be a dick but, no need to start a new thread, there are many ongoing. ask the question on one of those. or even go to their own forum. https://forum.vftuner.com/

once you have a tuned tacoma, the truck is how it should have came from toyota, as far as driveability. your results may vary. Ski

This is very true, I just had my 2021 TRD OR done today and have to say I’m pretty underwhelmed. I realize I need some more miles for it to do some re-learning, but honestly after watching way too many YT videos about it I was expecting a much more noticeable and exciting change. It isn’t, so far. 87 base tune, may cycle a few tanks of 91 through it and see how it runs. If it doesn’t get much, MUCH better I’ll probably ask the tuner to take it back to stock so I don’t have the warranty concerns in the back of my mind. A $240 experiment, hell I’ve spent more on less but I think my expectations were way too high.

So let me clarify my comments, as I have now been sent 5 PMs about this since posting.

I am not shitting on the OV Tune at all.

The tuner I used was FANTASTIC, patient, answered all of my dumb questions, etc. I would recommend him to anyone looking to try it out in the Phoenix area.

Again, I have about 60 miles on the tune thus far, so I know there is a period of relearning. I was only expressing my feelings that it didn’t make as huge a difference as all of the YT “first drive” videos made it seem it would be.

I set my expectations too high obviously. It is likely a combo of that and the fact that my truck is a ‘21 with the most current ECU and is basically stock, so the need for more “performance tuning” isn’t there for me. As I said I will put a few hundred miles on it, throw some 91 in it and maybe my mind will be blown!

Sorry to offend anyone, I was only expressing my opinion which I thought we did around here. I guess I shouldn’t have said anything.
