I would just cut off the old connectors and add new ones.

I've got the RetraxPro MX, retractable cover.

    https://retrax.com/retraxpro-mx/2017/toyota/tacoma

Seems very water tight, very little water in the bed even though I didn't install the drains at the front.

Lockable and has a "hard" top on it.

I mounts onto the bed rails so no drilling or anything like that.

    Bad points,
    Expensive!
You loose about 8" of your bed at the top front where the cover rolls into it's "box".

    But would recommend.

No ditch lights, but I've installed a new hood before...

Spray some Fluid Film or Cosmoline on all the metal-on-metal contact points so they are slippery.
    Get the bolts hand-tight.
    Close the hood.
Since the hood latch is still in the same place, the front of the hood will be close to centered.
Use plastic trim tool pry bars and plastic wedges to shift the hood sideways until the gaps are even.
Open the hood just enough to get a long ratchet in. Carefully support the front of the hood with 2x4s. Torque down the bolts.
Close the hood fully and recheck the gaps if you want.

Appreciate the offer, but I think I'll pass :D (Didn't you post that picture of the 'smokin' Mini )? :boink:

I did like the Mini though. It was a Countryman with a 6 speed. Fun to drive for sure.

What specific tools are you looking for? Right now, at home depot, you get the 5AH battery and a free tool with it (7 to pick from), but the battery is $200

Dewalts is cool cause you can get the weed wacker. They make it really hard to pick because once you have the batteries for one brand, you are pretty much stuck with them :ballchain:

yeah you're pretty much trapped in. Aint so bad being on team Makita though, they make everything from the coffee maker to the kitchen sink cordless.
