If I install pedal commander will it void my warranty through Toyota? Need more power/boost with the bigger tires

No it won't. However, instead of pedal commander, get Sprint Throttle Booster. It is cheaper and it is the ORIGINAL throttle booster. I have it on my truck, and it will do what you are asking for, believe me! Here is a video just posted of Robmotive installing Sprint in his new Tacoma. This will tell you what you need to know!

    Oh look, another mod....
No, it will not void your warranty. Because it's plug-n-play. You can easily remove it before you take it to the dealership (if you're worried about them seeing it - I'm not!) so they don't give you the bs line about "your aftermarket part caused this issue".

I also got the Sprint Booster and LOVE it. Best bang-for-my-buck option that I have bought so far.

After you disconnect it and remove it from the truck, there is no evidence that you ever had it on the truck.

A co-worker talked me into Banks Pedal Monster instead of Pedal Commander for one simple reason. The PC (and a lot of other manufacturers) power their unit off of the pedal signal. An unintended consequence of this is that if the unit fails your vehicle would lose all pedal signal. The PM is powered off of the OBD II port so if it were to fail your vehicle just reverts to factory pedal signal.

If there was something wrong with your truck and it was caused by the throttle controller, and Toyota knew about it, they would probably deny your warranty claim.

But if you take it out, they'd never know, so probably not then.

EDIT: Son-in-law says there may be sophisticated analysis units at dealership that can detect usage...even if you disconnect it beforehand.

^^ Pretty much this. If you remove it there should be no footprint left, but that's never a guarantee. Just like with a tune, mods like this are basically at your own risk. Low risk, granted, but not zero.

yeah that’s what I’m afraid of..if they find out it was connected and something happens to the motor they will 100% void my warranty. Just wanna know if someone has done it already

I was thinking about it but I don’t know what in the warranty will be voided. Anything bolt on and doesn’t touch my ECU they said is ok‍♂️

Right on thanks guys. Still not to sure yet. Hoping to find someone who has experience with it and a dealership warranty.

You probably won't find anyone that has, because most would just remove it before going to the dealer. It legally cannot void your warranty unless Toyota proves it did it. Plus just remove it, this doesn't do anything to your computer itself, it just sends a faster "open throttle" signal within your drive by wire system.

That's actually kind of difficult because each dealership is different. Some are accommodating and reasonable regarding mods, others will use any possible excuse not to honor a warranty claim. Two different dealerships with the same circumstances could yield two different results. So, the fact that someone here says "I had X problem and took it to my dealer and they didn't say boo about the Pedal Commander" doesn't mean you will have the same result at your dealer. Not what you wanted to hear I know.
