Your chuck says 4JT which is a 4 Jacobs taper. You need an R8 to 4JT adapter. Ours is a 3T cause the chuck is smaller.

Big time thank you, I appreciate not having to chase over hell and back to find that info. Now to tell my boss he spent $400 on a chuck that needs another part for us to use...

Better than the "it's not returnable and we can't make it work" discussion!

Ugh, this is going painfully slow. If only I took time to shorten everything up. Close gap between ways and chuck:facepalm:20220113_133321.jpg

Interesting that schematic said just what Kirk and I said

50amp breaker 6/3 wire I wonder why your friend said it can`t work?? Maybe some sort of local code ?

Did he offer to buy it for a few dollars?

But those cool machine gun sounds from all the interrupted cuts :infantry:

How big is that chuck, 24"?

For those learning what I'm talking about is closing up this gap. You've all heard me talk about having everything ridgid as possible. If I closed this gap then everything would be more solid. I wouldn't have that boring bar hanging out there and could have chose a better tool entirely. I even had my wrench on the nuts that lock those ways down....said nah, I'll just do this....:frusty:

Haha yes is stead of tink tink tink tink I got that times 2 because I cut them corners off!
It's 47.5 " diameter chuck and little over 9" through bore. Things a beast. If set up properly it would take .150" depth of cut, in steel, and not even break a sweat.

If gas was not so high right now I would take you up on the offer.

If I could afford it I need a adventure I am not really used to being in one spot so long even if this is home.

    I really do miss working.

Doesn't bother me at all. Just because I'm not a very good drinker, I still think it's nice for people that can responsibly. Cool project and nice save.
