Just got my truck back from the dealer this afternoon-two days. I was starting to go into withdrawal... They did the "new" CRC treatment per the recall. I will post up some pictures tomorrow when I finally get to put my sliders on. Drippy white glup all over the place; but, if the frame fails now I think they have to follow through... I

I'm not paid to be an advertiser but I'll fan-boy all day every day for everyone here to do Woolwax treatment. My truck came from Texas and I want to keep it looking that way and so far it's pristine (underneath the coat of goop of course). Just do it, super cheap insurance in the long run.

I need to clean my frame up before I do that. It's just a tad dirty :anonymous:

Just biding my time for a nice long weekend to clean up the shit job my dealership did. They just replaced plugs basically. I'm taking a dremel to any spots that need it and applying Fluid Film. I second taking the time to do this. Frame is covered under the recall but I'd rather not rely on that. "If you want something done right, do it yourself"- every smart man that ever existed.

I have some interesting plastic covers for the opening of the boxed section and plugs. Had not heard about these. Somewhat in the way for my sliders, but I will figure it out... Again, pictures tomorrow.

I have been doing my own voodoo treatment. What is the Woolwax treatment? Dealer thing?

Oh there will be some mods all right
I have a place by me that does NH oil. They do a great job. For areas that see constant road spray (like the front of diff and axle) I put 2 coats of CRC

I had those too. Took them off when I put my sliders on and left them off. All those caps do is trap mud and dirt in the boxed section. I just shove a hose up in the boxed section until the water becomes clear

Ditch the covers. They trap mud and moisture.

Updating my build and thought I'd share since we're talking about rust prevention. Here's what the paint looks like underneath the OEM rear U bolt mounts. Perfect. That spot to the right? Rubbed off the Woolwax and underneath it's still pristine just like when I bought it from Texas/Missouri two years ago.

Rear suspension install so fresh and so clean. Still going through photos and cleaning up the garage, the work never ends...

How are you liking the new suspension? Those leafs look like a massive upgrade from the wimpy OEM springs.

I had my truck "treated" last August. No dripping of gunk, but you do have to be careful when grabbing underneath.

    I ditched those cover things.

I'll have more thoughts to share later but right now working out the bugs. Kind of waiting for things to break in while I fix other problems and reserving judgements until I get it dialed.

    First impressions:
    • The new leafs are BEEFY. Ride is firm but not bad. I put 200lbs of sandbags in the back and it hasn't settled or sagged one millimeter. Good or bad? I have some doubts but giving it a chance.
    • Shocks are good I think but I need to call AccuTune with some concerns. Long run hoping it's good.
    • I have some minimal take-off shudder now that wasn't there before but like I said that's probably my problem. Need to check for shims, carrier drop, or one-piece shaft etc etc. Mo money, mo problems.

Hopefully, once you work out the bugs, you end up loving it!
