sounds like it's his job to find you a replacement and make you whole. If not then find his address and even up.

I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since you did this.
One of the few mods I didn’t copy you on.

You know what they say, if you're not first you're last. I can say getting rid of the electronic junk is the best thing you can do for these trucks to increase their drivetrain reliability.

Oh look, another mod I need to do!

Although the only fail actuator I've seen in my shop came from a guy who is doing donuts in the field and hit a rock with his front death at about 40 mph. So... I'd say the taco actuators are decently reliable, but they are definitely overcomplicated

if by decently you mean not terribly. Just search for “4x4 light blinking Tacoma” and you’ll get about 10,000 threads. And those are only the ones involved with forums, double or triple that number of issues for people who take it straight to their mechanic or dealer.

Just bought the parts to do this on my LS6/4l60E swap 2nd gen. I have an NP261HD manual T-case, and add needs to be gone!

I did this mod with a little advice from 6 gearT444E, thank you! Paired with a twin stick FJ case and a 6 spd manual, I have a 100% manual shift truck now. Couldn't be happier!

Need some help here. I can’t get the add stub shaft out. Tried prying, but nothing. Can’t get the driver CV out either, doing ECGS bushing at the same time.

The diy puller made with vinyl coated steel braided cable and a sledge hammer like post #2 of that link worked for me.

Jack the hub up and get the CV as parallel as you can. Place a pry bar on one of the flat spots on the inner CV, parallel with the axle. Drive it out with a hammer on the end of the pry bar. Will take just a couple good blows.

Probably got that silly ass c clip hanging up.

Hit with hammer (see above). Rotate. Hit again.

Use a pry bar, just be careful not to damage the seal.
