The first time you make something new, you gotta follow the recipe - see how it works out so you know how you wanna fuck with it next time..

And yea, baking - you can't do that at all - I had to buy a scale and do it all by mass or it just went to shit real fast..

Is she one of those people that comments on online recipes like "it turned out a little weird. I substituted mayo for butter since I was out and used crushed dry rice instead of flour since I was out of that too. 2/5 stars."

    That's so wrong

Butter is used widely for many reasons where mayo wouldn't work; in baking it has to do with fat to sugar ratios, especially when tweaking texture or moisture end results.

Butter also provides "layers" in laminated doughs like croissants, which provides a real melt in your mouth sort of feel.

If you ever had a home-made croissant, or any pastry that uses a laminated dough, you'll know what I mean. Especially when you compare it to a store bought laminated pastry since commercially, shortening is used and doesn't have the same properties (not to mention flavor).

If you use too much dairy you can make people laminate their underwear to their skin and pants

Mexican coke is the bomb - soda made with real sugar is good, corn syrup suxx (unless your making marshmallow creme)

Pretty sure there was a shortage for a few months or so as I couldn't find it even at the carniceria or taco places; probably the cartel controlling that shit.

I can't do marshmellows unless it's on s'mores. Anything else, pass.

Some dude posted in the "What the fork do I make for dinner" group on FB and he made strawberry jello with marshmellows on top like wtf :puke:

    cookie mix is my forte

I wouldn't mind doing it, but I hate shopping for ingredients and the cleanup. I'm also impatient and have enough projects, so maybe, along with piano, I'll pick it up when I'm 60
