Was just at a dealer for a recall. Wanted to get a price for parts and labor to have the utility package swapped for the jump seat and and have seatbelts installed while I was there. They looked at me like I was crazy and said it’s impossible which I know is bullshit you know.. I’m just a dumb woman right. they just were trying to sell me a truck with back seats. I’ve had no luck finding the panel/seats/seatbelts etc on eBay or at junkyards. I’d rather have the seatbelts installed at a shop as I will have kids back there from time to time. If anyone could help point me in the right direction that would be great. Is this something I may be able to find a dealer to do? I’m confident in my ability to do it all myself but it makes me a bit nervous because of potential obvious safety concerns. Has anyone had it done at a dealer, if so did they give you a hard time? And how much did they get you for parts and labor
    ?

I believe many on TW will trade for rear seats or get them from a wreaked Tacoma.

Thank you. They also told me it doesn’t have the cut outs for the seatbelts….but…

I've had all of that apart as I went the opposite way, I removed seats and made my own utility setup. No, the seats are not for sale, but others on this forum have sold theirs or they seemed to state so.

What is needed are the seats, back panel(s) below the window and the two side panels with the seatbelt slots in them. AND all the bolts.

I don't recall any electronics to the seatbelts so there is no safety issue... at least in my thinking. They just bolt in, within the side and through the cab bottom.

If this was for anything other than kids, I would sell you a truck with 4 seats as well. These seats are junk. Teenagers will complain.

A dealer is only prepared to do those things they are practiced on and have a set hour schedule to be able to quote a job, same for most mechanics; things like this can get out of hand fast with the vehicle sitting for weeks at their garage. This will be a labor of love to do yourself or convince another loved one to do for you. Expect more than a few setbacks and waiting for those parts not included.

When you go through the thread link supplied above look out for those painted metal loops welded to the back wall. I have no idea if your vehicle has them as it was not to have seats and child seat brackets. At this point I do not remember just what they were for, but I drilled mine out to make room for a flat wall for my Utility setup.

I didn't initially see your second post with the side panel slots for the seatbelts, so you may be set there. The side panels would still have to be pulled to get the seatbelt mechanism back there.

Thanks for the info. I’ll keep fishing for the parts and hope something pops up. The more info I get from you guys and look into it the more I feel okay just doing it myself. I have one kid who rides up front. Use it mostly for a work truck. Just would like the rear seats for convenience for the very occasional extra passenger or two.

Also, does anyone know what years if any are compatible with the 22 for this swap?

It's only a guess, but I would think the years are pretty much all the same.

Any of the Gen 3 interiors will fit. I just swapped my seats for a Utility interior; if you can operate a 3/8" ratchet and a screwdriver, you can do this yourself with no issues in an hour or 2. Use this thread as your guide: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/removing-rear-seats-and-back-panel-from-2016-access-cab.411587/. If you're at all nervous, find someone that wants the Utility package and is in your area, meet, park the trucks side-by-side, and work together to swap everything. The two upper child seat mounts bolt in with headrests, but there's one that's welded in that you won't have, that mounts at an angle on the center reinforcement of the back wall, shown here.

The carpet is different, and you may have to make some cuts to install the mini-console, but the storage bin assembly will pop right in (the lids are different).

There is no wiring or anything magical about the seatbelts, they just bolt in.

I advertised in the Gen 3 BST forum and had someone willing to drive 5 hours to me to swap his utility package for my seats. Distance will be more of a hindrance than anything else.

They probably knew it wasn't worth looking up the list of parts and labor, as the price would come back laughable. They could have just told you that though.
I can't imagine shoe-horning kids in access cab.
