Icon coilover rebuild/seal kit

Are your Donahoe(All) or Icon coilovers(serial #s lower than 1400) blown? Are they due for a rebuild?
If you're willing to rebuild your own shocks I have four sets of Icon coilover rebuild kits. That's enough rebuild kits to do four shocks without the remote reservoir. Icon sells them for thirty-five bucks a shock and Seventy-five if you want them to install them. Do it yourself and save some coin. I'm only looking to get $20 a kit. Pictured items below the standard seal kit are extra. Prices are posted. Located in Murrieta, CA.

Std. Seal Kit: $20

Rod bearing and spiro-locks: $12 each bearing and $1 each spiro-lock

Wear band: $4 each

Coil adjuster set screw: $1 each

Valve Shims: I have .925x.015 / 1.050x.015 / 1.275x.015 / 1.30x.015 / 1.30x.020 / 1.425x.015 / 1.55x.015 / 1.55x.020 $1 a shim

do you need extra parts for the resi ones? also, is this for the 2.5 fronts, or 2.0 rears?

 

These are for any 2.5" Icons, front coilovers included. They will not work for 2.0 rears. The remote reservoir coilovers require two extra o-rings for the reservoir end caps. I have what you need but it will leave me short for the other seal kits. I doubt the reservoir end caps o-rings are an extreme wear item. You would just replace the high wear items inside your remote resi icons with the kit I am selling. A kit includes two h-wipers for the shaft, an o-ring for the seal head, and an o-ring for the floating piston.

 

thanks for the info. i don't actually need them now. i'm hoping to revalve the fronts in a year or so, so when i do that i figure i might as well do the seals too while i have them apart. i'll keep an eye on this thread in case they don't sell by then.

I have shims as well. I'll check them with the Caliper and post what I have. I think they're 15s and 10s. I also have the stock valving chart on PDF. For your eyes only of course. You can PM me about that.

You're very welcome. Nice job on the install. I'm sure the wear band will be fine. As for the bearing, if you they don't begin to rattle I wouldn't worry about it. A buddy of mine had some uniballs that were beyond shot and he just milked them until they rattled horribly. Only then did he replace them. No harm done.

 

I was in patient and in a hurry when I ordered and didn't have the shocks apart yet. I got the piston bands and the dividing piston wear bands from Icon. I had one bearing and ordered 2 from you, then I thought I better just replace them all.

 

Any chance you still have these? It's a long shot, but I figured I'd ask.

 

I'm afraid not. I have some stuff left, but not the seals themselves. If you need some of the other hardware listed let me know and I will tell you what I do have left.

 

So I'm bringing this one back from the dead, does anyone know any info on. Rebuilding some 2.5 dr coilovers, and 2.0 rear icons? Can I get new bushings for the rear shocks? How much do shafts usually cost...? Thanks guys

 

You should be able to get the stuff from Icon. I posted a thread on rebuilding my fronts a ways back. I did touch up my shafts with some 1000 grit sandpaper and they have been good for 80000 miles.
