Looking into an RCD 4.5" Lift

I've good things about the 4.5" RCD kit on here, so I'm considering that with some 33's on my truck.

Anyone know of a good shop in Arizona that can do that lift?

Also, 33's will fit well with the 4.5" lift, correct? I'm not looking for anything too crazy, just a good lift, good set of tires and I'll be set. Right now my average is 16.2mpg, what kind of drop should I expect? DCSB 6sp SR5

I have 3" procomp and 285 BFG KM2 which is 33x11.50 and i average 15 city, but I also have DCLB Auto

 

I can't help with the install question, but you know you can fit 285s (33s) without spending all that money on an RCD lift, right?

Some aftermarket shocks, coils, leafs and UCA's will let you clear 285s.

I was thinking Bilstien 5100/5150's, the Icon leaf pack and TC UCA's?

The only reason I'm thinking about the RCD lift is to leave it open for bigger tires in the future.

The only reason I'm even looking right now is that my grandfather died and he was gracious enough to leave me some money. He built and raced cars his entire life and his basement was a full metal-working shop. I know he would approve.

 

If you do plan on going bigger than 285s in the future, then the RCD makes more sense.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, I lost mine on my dad's side in 2009 - still miss him everyday.

Will my truck look weird with 33's and 4.5" of lift?

He was a great man, I won't ever forget him showing me how to use a lathe when I could still barely walk

 

Check out Solus' build - he has the RCC lift with 305's I think.

If you're going to do the RCD lift, I would just go ahead and throw on bigger tires while you're at it.

Sounds like my grandfather, he had me out in his workshop before I can even remember - he was a carpenter, so he had all kinds of woodworking tools and stuff.

RCD all the way! Rides really good. I have RCD lift with 295/70/17R and it rubs a little when u are in parking lot but other than that it's great lift and i'm very happy with it

If you wheel I wouldn't do RCD... do something real like a by-pass setup with Fox/Icon/King/ect.

4.5" will let you clear 33's (aka 285's) or even more... however even with 285's you will need to trim some plastic and do the body mount chop... you will rub at full flex up front. Rears will clear, but wheeling they will rip your rear flaps off. You'll also have to ditch the front flaps. Additionally, at turn and full flex up front you'll hit the body mount pinch weld... only way to fix that is flatten it or cut it out and weld it back shut. Most people just live with it, I have lol. I'm only sitting at about 2.5-3" at the moment as my coils aren't cranked up... but at flex it doesn't matter anyway.

I just finished my RCD lift this weekend. I was able to do it in my garage.

I love it. I'm running 305/60/17s I have not had to trim any thing. The kit is awesome.

It took me about 2 hours to do the back and about 15 hours to do the front. It was a lot of work but I absolutely love it.
