de-badged, de-stickered, black grill emblem, 285/70/17 General Grabber AT2,Cab mount Chop, seat belt chime, lock/unlock beep muted, yellow fogs, FOX 2.6 Coiler front & Bilstein 5100 rear + Built Right UCAs & AAL, SnugTop, bronze duplicator wheels, Thule hitch rack, 4x Yakima roof bars, Yakima Sky Box, Baja Rack, ARB FR Bumper,

OK, I picked up a 4x4 2009 Double Cab, long bed in MGM.
26,000 easy miles on it - looked like it never saw dirt...
I soon found this forum & started tinkering... Thanks to you guys I was immediately unable to leave well enough alone.
    as she sits now:

    20120224_LILO9615.jpg

-It started with debadging all the chrome logos, which is like a nervous tick for me.
    here's the tailgate:

    20120224_LILO9606-2.jpg
I removed the Nerf Bars that came with the truck [which are for sale locally for a song]

    - Then painted the grill emblem black

    20120224_LILO9642.jpg

    - and then i had to get rid of the little street tires that came on it. I picked up BFG's [265/70/17] - i had Terra Grapplers on my last truck [Tundra] but just wanted a change.

    20120224_LILO9634.jpg

I added yellow lens protector film from Lamin-x - incorrectly mind you... i should have heated them up & rubbed in a circle as I learned after the fact... anyway, they'll do for now.

    20120224_LILO9635.jpg

And then I took a poster's advice [TRICOMA] & brought her down to James at 'The Truck Shop' here in San Diego where he installed Bilstein 5100's & Built Right UCA's

    20120224_LILO9632.jpg

and in my indecision about a new shell I found a Softopper on eebay in LA.
    other little minor mods include:
    - Seat belt chime silencer
    - AFE 'dry pro' air filter
    - Front mudflap trim
    - Bosch wipers [who knew it rained here?]
    - Cheapo iPhone holder that suctions on to the windshield
    - Console Vault - just in case

    IMG_3609-2.jpg

    and here she is again:

    20120224_LILO9626.jpg
    IMG_3781.jpg

and now, I need to replace one of the rubber roof drip things that i never noticed it was missing & while i'm at it i'm considering adding a matte black vinyl to the roof for S&G.
Also hoping to order a hitch shackle from TW Vendor Elite Off Road [I PM'd you earlier]

Also considering Bronze wheels as seen on North's rig.

    *UPDATE:

    ...and the wheels + RACK
    [IMG]

*UPDATE - PUT THE TENT UP & HEADED TO MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN FOR SOME FRESH SNOW.
The Eezi Awn withstood some amazing winds & 2ft+ of Sierra Cement.
I need to rework the positioning of the tent still as is causes wind to blast the front window of the Softopper as it sits now.

Ha, i know - i'm fighting the black wheels urge! my last 4 vehicles have been all black with black wheels & this MGM has got me thinking differently - we'll see.

Incidentally, I'm wavering on how to mount my Eezi Awn Roof Top Tent.
I had it mounted to Thule racks on SnugTop on my last truck:
    P1030678.jpg
I like the Softopper because I can easily fold it down & load up bikes, gear & what have you.
I'm considering a 'lumber rack' style that would hold the tent above the Softopper [they actually offer something like this - i just haven't seen it in person] or a bed mount option [Bakkie?] that would make me choose whether I wanted to take the Softopper or the RTT.
Building an Adventure trailer is looking like a cool idea too.
Anyone want to start an Adventure Trailer CO-OP here in SD? like a time share?
    could be cool.

    Im getting there......
Love the looks of your truck (i like how you kept it looking stock but a little more aggressive. Two good options would be the yakima outdoorsman 300 (fixed multi use rack) or what I have is the thule porter (which would be adjustable so you can hover it right over your topper) it looks nicer and is better quality to but is about 3x more expensive. Also commercial ladder racks may work

Thanks, I'll look into those. I wasn't sure i could keep both the softopper & use the telescoping Thule towers.

Holy hell yea! Nice truck sir! Like the bronze rims with the MGM.

How are you liking the soft topper/rack combo? Looking into this myself. Saw that you had it and figured I would ask your opinion.

    Thanks!

It's Great - super easy to install & un-install. I think the rack sits a bit too high for my RTT & lift as the ladder barely reaches the ground & the extra height can't be helping the MPG's.
I haven't found anything else that will go over the ST - maybe a lumber rack type thing?

Hey Jason, I got the rack from Softopper - it's on their site if you search through the products. I ended up putting a Snugtop on so mine is up for grabs. Local pick up $200. Lmk if you are interested.

    I love the bronze wheels!

I've seen your truck around town, as I live right near you in Encinitas!

    Looks great!

Did you paint your rims or did you hire someone to do it? If so, who?

Also, what level are your 5100's set at? And do you have the TSB or AAL in the back?
