I am looking to get an 8" or 10" sub and want to put a box behind the drivers side seat in the back of my 06 dbl cab. However, I don't want to cut or remove any of the plastic shell. I also don't want to use all of the back storage area because I store a lot of stuff in there. I may mount the amp in the passengers side space if I have to but am looking to leave my storage opened up if at all possible. Any help is greatly appreciated and tips on sub amp selection is welcomed.

youre either gonna have to take it out or cut it / mod it in some way. ...otherwise maybe a subwoofer isnt in your future for behind the seats.

+1, for an 8 or 10 behind the rear seats, something has to go. Only other choice that keeps the boxes is one of those smaller self-amped boxes (like Sound Ordinance). Even with that, the plastic may stay, but the usability of that storage box is gone.

If you truely want an 8 or 10, lose or trim the drivers side storage plastic. You can also mount an amp under the driver or passenger seat itself.

    Check the link he posted.

And no, all of those posted are not 8" subs. The last pic is 6.5" Tang Band subs. And they sounded good.

IIRC, he never did 8's ported, he is running a pair of ED 8" drivers, sealed.

And I would love to see pictures of a 12 or 12's under there, I just dont see how there is room.

They are 2 12" JL WX I think they sound alright but don't hit worth anything. The air space is tight so he stuffed it to the gills with poly fill in the hopes of getting better SPL's but he's going to downgrade, he say's, to 10's which I have been telling him to do forever but he's stuck in a "bigger is better" attitude.

Im planning on doing a pair of 10s, Probably going with the Rockford Fosgate p3 shallow mounts behind the backseats. Should sound pretty fucking good i hope.

I could be wrong but those underseat subs look like they'd vibrate quite a bit.
