Pic or description of the part?? Are you talking about the grey piece below the climate controls in this pic, but above the storage pocket forward of the shifter?

drop (or remove) the glove box and the panel under the steering wheel, then remove the center console (the entire thing). Then you can remove that part.

If you don't know how to do all that.... then you likely shouldn't be trying to take that panel out and should find someone that can do it for you... Also, the above link won't help you.

Just for confirmation, you're talking about the grey plastic panel that houses the cig lighter and aux power source, and the black pop-out panels (Aux in, USB, etc...), right?

that looks like a 2012 model, but the process will likely still be the same.... Glove box, panel under steering column, and the entire center console need to come out.

There's likely about ten 10mm bolts and a similar number of philips head screws that hold all of it together.

Really doesn't take but about 10 mins.

out of curiosity ... does anyone think the 2012 vent panel would fit in a 05 to 11 model? looks like all they changed was the panel and took out the knob things that were in the earlier models (the 4x4 switch thing and the passenger airbag key).

people been talking about the dash kit for the 2012 being different from the 05-11 dash kit... slightly different curves and whatnot, so why wouldn't the curves on the other dash pieces have changed? I guess if you could get a hold of the part numbers for each year of the black airbag cover (passenger side above the glove box) and the black piece of the gauge cluster - since both those pieces would be the pieces that depends on the radio bezel fitting - and they're all the same, then ya, possible

I just got the 09+ for my 06 will be doing the swap. The 2012 looks the same. But since they are special order I didn't want to take the chance.

The 2012 Vent panels have less of a curve vertically so you would have to use a 2012 radio face panel
