Blue Lake Off-road also makes bumpers for the Tacoma, along with pretty much every other vehicle. I've never seen one of their Tacoma bumpers but I have a friend with one of their bumpers for his Tundra and it's pretty beefy. It's one of the ones I'm considering for my Taco. Pretty good prices and very customizable. The rear bumpers are pretty sweet too. Lots of options.

those look identical to TAG(used to be kennesaw mountain bumpers) bumpers?... maybe a new name for the company again?

Edit- looked a little harder and found identical pics on both sites, looks like its the same company.

    Hey,

This is a question to the bumper fabricators. Most seem to not work with factory hitch, I know fabricators offer a hitch. However, I have only seen one that says straight out it is not certified others do not address the issue at all.

Here is my problem I am looking to get an RV next year nothing big 19' Air Stream. If something happens the way insurance companies are they look to crawl under a rock before paying. An insurance investigator friend of mine states he would note the non stock bumper and hitch but he would not look into if it is certified etc unless asked to do so by the company paying for his services. I asked him if the companies any of the big ones would check. Therefore allowing them to hang any loss of control on that and not road conditions, driver stupidity lol etc IE see an easy way out of paying . I am going to guess it is cost prohibitive to get the hitches certified? Please do not take this as a shot against your shops abilities as everything I have seen looks solid in pictures I unfortunately suffer from OCD when doing research.

    Not enough.
The only thing I had to cut was a little thin tow hoop.
I have heard that getting certified was a lot of $$$, so as seeing that most fabbers on here are small shops/garages, it's probably too much to pay.

I looked into this and it was in the ball park of 7-10 g's there is alot more to it than what most people think and with eveyone being sue happy...loking for the easy money...just easier to say it's a non rated hitch. Although I've towed more stuff than the truck is even rated for with my bumpers..I'm more worried about the brakes than the hitch..just my .02

TJM is back in the United States and sells an air bag approved winch bumper. It is about the same price as ARB.

So, if (like me) you want an air bag approved bumper (for insurance/liability reasons) it looks like it is either ARB or TJM.

    Does anyone have one yet?

    Can you post some pictures?

Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket rear bumpers that work with the existing tow hitch?

most if not all rear bumpers use the tow hitch mounts. Most aftermarket bumpers have the option of a built in tow hitch.
