Installed some N fabs, and as a preemptive post, tomorrow I am getting 20% tint on the driver and passenger windows.

. . . ^ ^ ^ . . . It will happen, especially with the bass and they will also get tinnitus (which is a lot worse than a hearing loss).

I have tinnitus from the loud noises in the military in general ... and also from being in helicopters (even with ear protection).

Loud music is like excessive drinking or smoking ... you pay the price later when you least want to. . . .

    +1

I've reacted out of instinct and backhanded my wife (not in the face) more than once for popping a soda, or even something as simple as stacking two plates together, when too close to my head.
Unintentional... it's just that certain sounds and frequencies feel like an icepick jabbed into my skull.

    Lots baby!
I put some amber led lights in the base of my cup holder.

I made a plexiglas lens to help diffuse the light.

When I installed the lens, it covers the reduced bore at the base of the cup holder. This means if I stick a skinny bottle ( like a water bottle) it wants to fall over. Great for Big Gulps, but sucks for Ozarka.

So I laser cut some neoprene foam rings.
    cupholder005_0571584a7a2639c013b517afef9793a03226612a.jpg

I used some black silicone and glued these into place.

I let it dry, then I took an xacto and did a little trimming.

As Rich posted i had to cut out the center of the grill to apply the next insert. Its in the trash. I kept the emblem and threw it in the pile of chromed emblems I pulled off my truck from debadging. 6 total. I'm probably putting lights behind her after I get my bigger tires.

Thanks for the links and part numbers needed for this install. I'm going to do this repair myself and i really appreciate the warning about checking bushings, tie rods, etc. Went ahead and checked my suspension over and to my dismay I found both Light Racing UCAs ball joints have way to much play in them. The UCA bushings on the driver side have a little to much movement as well.

Can't believe my chances of both UCA ball joints going bad within 50,000 kms on putting these on... then add on the LCA boot/ball joint and i got a nice little saturday planned just like that.

Holy fuck dude!!! Can you even hear at all in your right ear?

Being in the military and having quite a bit of experience with sound systems, I am a firm believer that headphones do more damage to hearing than loud car stereos. My hearing wasn't very good in high school from excessively loud headphone listening through middle school and into high school. Being in the army I get a hearing test every year. Well I already had my baseline set when I got my loud ass system.
Ghetto looking as shit I know, but so is the car so no big deal. haha

Anyway, I have had that for almost 6 years now and I blast it everywhere I go and my hearing tests have been virtually unaffected, and not to brag, but that system is no slouch by any means. I can turn peoples heads doing 75 down the freeway with their windows up, you can hear me coming from a block or more away and not just the bass, but the 6x9's as well.
So anyway I go to Iraq for a year (it was rather uneventful and I didn't think I was exposed to any loud noises really, other than a handful of helicopter rides with ear pro.) and my hearing tanks and I didn't even listen to hardly any music the whole time. It's not nearly as bad as Rich's though...

Even now I have no problem driving my car with that stereo blasting, but if my headphones are turned up too loud they start to actually hurt my ears, and they don't even have to be turned up that loud. Hearing buds are just damaging to your ears for several reasons. The biggest one being just how close they are to your ear drums. The 2nd is that they usually seal into your ears which doesn't allow the sound waves to escape anywhere forcing them all into your ear.
