I need some strong tiedown points in the front floor of my 08' bed and unfortunately as you know the Tacoma comes with none .

I have searched for a D ring to install on the frame/bed bolt but can't find anything. Any ideas out there? I figure this is the best and strongest place to install something?

I did do a search but could not find anything on here...although I am sure it is!

    Thanks!

Thanks guys - great help! Any idea on the load rating for the OEM D rings? I hear it is on the owners manual, but I don't have one of those unfortunately.

    Here is what i did

I was in a rush but needed to tie down a large bike so i picked up a set of these $10

Those were to handle bear the brunt of the weight -- they are attached straight to the frame. Pretty damn strong

then for side to side stability i added these over sized d-rings. I ideas was to put a large plate on the other side of the fiberglass so as to give more area to the bolts so it would not pull through. Never got around to it -- pretty strong with out it but i will get around to it -- bout $6. I sometimes put my kids in the back when we go on the beach or some slow dirt roads. They provide a firm place for them to hold on to or when you need to strap something like a box in the bed to it doesnt slide around and there and no attachment points on what ever it is you have in the bed. A strap goes right over from side to side.

the best thing is that it is cheap

There's a whole thread with info on the ArmySurplusWarehouse (?) options, including a fantastic D-ring intended for HMMWV type vehicles. They bolt under the bed bolts fine, are extremely strong, and other than having to grind the bed bolt ridges off so you can remove/reinstall the original washer, install without modification.

No shipping wasn't very bad, plus you get five D rings for around $10.00.

Custom mud flap removal from rock on trail :), Tailgate Hose Clamp Mod, Cobra 75 wx st CB install, 19 more D-Rings in the bed, Satoshi Grill, Fog Lamp on any time mod. Relentless Fab CB antenna hood mount, LED bed lights, Demello Hybrid Sliders, Undercover Tonneau Cover, Lighted 4x4 switch
I dipped all my Army Surplus rings in Plasti Dip and they don't rattle any more! When I first installed them without the plasti dip, it sounded like I had a bunch of sleigh bells in the back

Plasti-dip seems the way to go for you then. I swear I've never really noticed them, but I don't roll my windows down very much at all, and have a pretty decent set of subs behind the rear seat.
