ok.. so starting out this is a 2012 4x4 trd sport... this is how i picked it up from the dealer.




in less then a week of owning it i plasti dipped the front grille emblem, and debadged/destickered everything




then added weathertech digital floor liners and some in channel vent visors




this weekend i plastidipped the wheels, tinted the tails/3rd brake light, mirror markers.. and installed a truxedo truxport tonneau



sanded the lights with wet 2000.. taped, tinted, pealed tape, PPG cleared

next week the front windows will be tinted.. and next weekend i'll do the BHLM. Debating whether or not to tint the fogs yellow.. i have 2500k yellow fog bulbs already. Also thinking of this sockmonkey decal



i do a lot of mtn biking.

 

got the front windows tinted 35% and completed the BlackHeadlightMod this weekend.

 

Added 6 tie downs under the factory bed bolts. Bed mat (cut out holes for the tie downs). a toyota bed extender.. and finally a moose bottle opener

 

That is so pimp and I am so jealous!

yellow lamix fog's and bestop supertop.... will run the soft topper spring though fall and the tonneau for the winter months.

Love what you've done with your truck so far...

I have a 2013 DCSB black sport that I'm in the process of modding and was wondering if there was a specific wirte-up you followed to tint the tails/3rd brake/mirror marks?? I saw you thanked SoCal for the idea..

anyhow, your truck looks great and sounds like we've got similar ideas for future suspension/tire mods..

 

i copied the look from SoCal but i believe he used tint film. I used VHT nite shade.. remove the light, clean, wet sand with 2000 grit, clean, dry, tape off what you want to stay clear, spray 3 light coats of VHT nite shade, remove tape, clear coat with a good quality clear (i used PPG). you can use spray bomb clear coat but it will deteriorate over time and never look as good as a good quality clear coat like PPG/Dupont. I didnt wet sand and buff my clear coat but you could if you need to. mine was pretty clean with very little orange peel.

Do you think its necessary for me to remove all the wheels/tires to plasti-dip my stock 17" wheels? I saw a write up on here with someone who left them on and used a deck of cards around the back of the wheels...

i took mine off... wanted to do them front and back. i guess you could leave them on just put a towel on the brake rotor/caliper.
