    ...too much shit to list.
Are you high? Both AGM and gel cell batteries have plates. AGM have glass matt that wick the electrolyte between the battery plates. Gel cell have paste like gel the electrolyte is suspended in and electrons flow in between plates. Neither battery will leak if the case is cracked or broken open. And the main kicker, AGM batteries WAY outperform gel cell in high amp discharge (winch, starting, etc). Same size gell cell will have lower power capacity, require a special charger or a regulator for use in vehicles. The only thing gel cell is good for are slow discharge rates like a trolling motor on a boat.

I've got an AGM battery in mine for the same reasons, couldn't be happier. Haven't had any close calls with my battery yet blastin the stereo.

Thanks man! Yeah, everything's legal on my truck, I just don't want to hit a situation like yours and get a massive ticket for sliding out going like 10mph max.

And damn you new truck people! I should take a pic of my engine compartment...no room to do anything!

Haha best of luck. I'm going to fight the ticket in court so hopefully it won't stick anyways. Take some pics if you go up there, it's beautiful.

On a different note, does anyone have a list of stuff that should be in a recovery kit? What kind of straps should I get just to throw in my toolbox. I don't have a winch yet so I don't need those tree saver ones. Just something for my friend and I to hook together to tug each other out of shit.

Yeah I'm just looking for a place where my girlfriend and I can go have fun in the snow. We haven't been up anywhere yet, so we're going this weekend. We went up part of the MET last year late in the season so it was pretty sparse and easy for my truck to handle, but it'll be neat to see it mid-season. I think right now we're thinking either MET or the exit off the 80 for Blue Canyon Road. There's a little bit of a snow field that we've built a snowman in before and it was lots of fun.

Good luck with your ticket, though!

As far as recovery gear, look into snatch straps. They're the ones designed to do what I think is called a dynamic recovery where one truck basically accelerates with slack and then the strap stretches and momentarily has a lot of pulling power to pull the stuck truck out. If you search them on youtube you'll see what I'm talking about. Australians are freakin' crazy...:D

I am all too familiar with the engine compartment on the 3VZE pickups... My first truck was a '91. They are super tight, I found out the hard way when my water pump bracket failed... Not a fun fix.

Even just the freakin' oil filter! Gotta unbolt the skidplate and it's a super tight squeeze to get up to it. *sigh* Ah well, the truck makes up for that in other ways :D

Anyone have any idea what the stock front skidplates weigh for a 1st gen? We don't have a scale and I need to get a shipping quote.

Didn't see this til now but no, as previously stated I wanted todo the Columbia overland tray and two optima redtops. They're cheaper, they're red, and they fit(I think). CO sales told me that any group 35 would fit and I read the measurements and they should fit.

    Is anyone out by Modesto??

I found this kerosene stove that I'd like to buy, but I'm a bit busy for next week to go pick it up.

I have a red top. It definitely fits.

ATO was the tray I was going to go with.
