Mike, not sure if you are checking this thread while the BS thread is locked. I timed my heated mirrors this am, the switch kicked off after 15 minutes

Got it. Ya, it seemed like a lot of people liked those when he did the two group buys. Seemed like there were too many orders for him to do in his estimated time though.

Ya I agree. If alex could get the machine shop into it they could probably keep up and alex could learn from the post where people bitched about certain aspects of the cover and make it better

Chris, I tried, couldn't do it. My bad, sorry!

He got flamed really bad so I doubt he'll even start making them again. He was out of work for medical reasons and couldn't respond to people so they got out the pitchforks and torches. Pretty sure he's done making them for TW after that whole fiasco but the product he made looked nice. I didn't like the attachment of the canvas but other than that, it was a nice product.

Thanks, did the same thing this morning as well. 15 minutes on the dot they clicked off. They clear the mirrors after about 2 minutes, I guess I just wasn't waiting long enough for them to turn off.

O ya, I remember that now. People got all hot and bothered. It's unfortunate, I was highly contemplating getting one. It would have been convenient, especially with his proximity to us. I really just wanted the rack to transport kayaks, wood, etc.., but for not much more the canvas was kind of a no brainer.

He actually made a really nice rack for this system that was able to be easily collasped but still beefy enough to support weight when assembled. He was around the same money as the Bestop or Softtopper but with the added benefit of weight support. It was unfortunate what happened, I thought he had a nice idea.

Being local, hopefully he'd make one for you. Good luck!

I just looked at those for the first time. I would ditch my tonneau cover for one in a heartbeat. Seem like you get the best of both worlds. I was thinking of getting a cap with thule racks for my kayaks anyways.

Billy, let me know what he says.

I've been looking at the caps too. Found a few color matched fiberglass ones for around $300 on craigslist. But something like that seems a little more versatile.

That's not bad at all, I paid more than double that for my shell. I would like the versitility of a soft topper but I wouldn't trade the security (or notion of security since they are relatively easy to break into) for a soft top.

Too bad I can't just buy the whole mirror assembly and wire it in. Maybe a project I'll do when it's not freezing out.

Check out Muth mirrors, Rob's towing mirrors or the new 4Runner mirrors. You can do it, you'll just spend triple the money on it if you want them to be OEM (4Runner) mirrors.
