Unfortunately I am not in a position to take on any prototype or custom projects for a while due to current backlog. There are some companies that have bumpers like that already. All-Pro comes to mind, they have the optional additional coverage without cutting.

I wasn't either but I knew I would be more pissed if I crunched that rear quarter than just get it over with... All really depends on how crazy you get offroad. aaaand depending on the protective tubing design it doesnt really garauntee protection either

Gained almost 5" at the fender flare on my ATO. 4.5" at the rear end. Plenty to be gained by cutting, and if your worried about damaging the qtr panel you might as well cut it and do it all once.

Cutting ang going hi clearance adds a little more clearance. Main thing is the gained rigidity of the plate material in the area that can become damaged. If you don't get into bad situations often you don't need to cut. I have hit my hi-clearance several times but typically in the rear where a standard one would be fine. I have hit it up closer to the wheel well where the sheet metal is removed only a couple times but was happy I had the bumper.
Not only does it tear up the sheet metal but often gets the tail light etc when you impact that area.
If you wheel based on what protection you have you are fine with a standard rear

Icon MT suspension, Pelfreybuilt front bumper, Relentless skids, Avid sliders, Avid custom rack. Pelfreybilt HC Rear bumper.
I dented/scratched the lower rear fender on the passenger side while trail running and this with careful driving when I had to turn around on a too narrow trail and tangled with a stump and some brush. The good news is I cut that part off when I put on my HC Rear bumper.

If you rock crawl at all or drive narrow trails a High Clearance is a good investment in my opinion. I would sure hate to buy a no-cut bumper and then bash in the lower fender!

You could say that, or just think of the cutting like this, the first inch takes a little warming up to get ready but once you get into it you'll be glad you did.

I can attest to this, before I got my HC bumper I smashed the rear quarter panel, the stock bumper, and the tail pipe. Popped my tail light out snapping all the tabs holding it on.

The biggest plus to the HC bumper is the chicks it pulls at the mall...chicks dig a nice rear bumper.
Case in point here...this is an irresistable ass.....u know u want it

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
I have the all pro with the side guards. I should have just cut the bed but the local options weren't as good as they are now. The all pro sides help some but I landed on the drivers side pretty hard once and bent the bed side a little. They were great till the rear slipped off a rock, sure it was better than nothing but it did flex and bend some.
