You have take a placement test show your abilities/knowledge can be brought to the surface. That is where a remedial or prerequisite comes in. Algebra I can be a Prerequisite for, let's say, A Survey of Math. If you fail Algebra on the placement test you will have to take Algebra I before you can register for the Math class

Word of advice; if you're really looking to get into CJ, pick a different major. I have a bachelors in CJ. With as competitive as LEO agency's are, I started applying around 2004/5 & lucky me all the vet's were applying for LEO jobs. Having vet preference has pretty much killed my shot a handful of times, even having 2 years of experience. A department/agency will take you with an associates, or bachelors of ANY degree. Broaden your horizons with a major in anything but CJ. Don't feel shy to apply to other states either.

just my humble shoe shine opinion .02

When the xbox one was first announced, it had restrictions like needing to verify each game when you logged on (even in single player) within 24 hours, and games couldn't be borrowed or used. I have a PS4 vs XB1 thread here. After tons of negative feedback, Microsoft lifted a lot of restrictions.

CJ can be really useful for a host of things... the job I just interviewed for was for a financial analyst at a law firm... also applied for NSA and CIA and will do ATF and FBI when they open up for intelligence positions. Like i sadi before I think what you do in school makes way more of a difference, but JMO

Both systems basically have the same APU, but the PS4 has faster memory, and memory management. It's also nice that both systems are using the x86 architecture now. It'll make development and porting games much easier.

THERE WILL BE MATH. But engineering is cool, I just wish I had been an engineering major instead of biology. Now I don't even use my degree.

That's the last thing I want, is lazily-ported console games going over to PC. PC fo' lyfe!

Having your kid pay for school is probably the best thing you can do to motivate them. Stress the importance of education in whatever field they are interested whether it takes a technical school or a 4 year degree and if they pass and take it seriously then pay for it if funds allow. That's what I would do if I wanted kids but luckily we don't.

Definitely do Engineering. The classes can be pretty miserable, but it's definitely worth it in the end.

I would look into Mechanical or Electrical, depending on your skill set.

How do you think he passed his test :D

On a serious note my best advise is to take night classes if your going to community college. I spent 1/2 my time taking day classes when I worked nights and the other 1/2 taking night classes when I worked days. The difference is astounding. Day classes are full of burn outs that are just there to hit on chicks or sleep. No one participates and the disrespect is angering. Night classes are full of motivated individuals who are typical older and have a serious educational plan of attack. They participate in the classes and were very respectful. No ones eating bags of chips or popping sodas open.

Also the professors were better IMO at night. Most of mine were teaching for the love of it and had full time jobs during the day which was great for me. They weren't the people who couldn't hack it in the real world so they decided to teach - they were good at their day jobs and wanted to spread their knowledge. My crime analysis & statistics professor was a FBI agent and my Forensic class was taught by a Cherry Hill Sargent to name a few.

Also stay away from worthless electives. Instead of taking volley ball take stress management. Choose things best suited for your career by thinking ahead.

From the little college I did....This was my experience. ... and I would add that it goes beyond just community college. ... I went to DeVry for business and the classes I took at night were filled by adult/mature people and so true about the professors too.... they were all active in the field they taught. ...
