Be okay. Not great tho with the auto.

5.29s with the auto would be better. 4.88s will be nice thou but more ideal for a manual.

The 4.56s tho should be fine for just about everything other then hills I bet on the hwy..but won't be bad I'd think.

I run 456 and 35 on my second gen and it feels very much like stock, maybe slightly over geared...

    Yea key world: 2nd gen

Totally different motor and tranny gears.

    So..no offense..but that doesn't help.

I've been in a 4.88 geared v6 auto 1st gen with 33s and it drove exactly like my stock double cab v6 auto.

    Just different ratios and power..

2nd gens do very well with bigger tires. Hurts us more.

All good! I'll have a chance to work on it a little tomorrow. I'll trim the fenders and flares during the week then have it welded next weekend. 35s be on by next week for sure. This is not my daily driver so got to take my time. Plus wife and baby duties.

Looks like I got to put that on the list. Not in a hurry to do that. Honestly I've been thinking about selling my snorkel and getting some new fenders.

    Items thinking about selling.

    Arb high output compressor
1" 4 crawler bl with HD hardware
    Safari snorkel
    305 toyo mts
    Jeraco truck cap

    Why the compressor??

And you can make the snorkel work with fiberglass fenders. Just takes a bit of cutting.

Compressor I may keep but the reason I would sell it is that I would just run the stock arb compressor and my co2 setup.

With the fenders have you seen a clean install with glass and a snorkel? If so post a link. I would love to see it.

Oh you have two compressors? Haha yea I'd just do the little one for lockers and backup and co2 for tires and tools.

Gimmie just a second. Have a good thread for that..

    Here ya to.

Not super pretty but works. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...s-fiberglass-safari-snorkle-mod-pictures.html

Other option is a custom snorkel. Zam15 did one.

Thanks for the link. Maybe it would look cleaner if the fender paint matched his truck?

Probably yes. I'd planned to do that. Just haven't gotten around to buying a snorkel.

I would LT if I drove fast in the desert! Just looking at all my options. We'll see how clean the trimming of the fenders and flares go.

Wouldnt you have more flex in the front with Long travel though?
ive always wondered this, of course being 4x4 youd have cv issues to deal with but wouldnt you end up with more articulation?

I'm going LT soon up front.

You get 14"ish of wheel travel with 4wd. But it still doesn't work like a solid axle so not like it'll be super flexy. But yes. More wheel travel.

Definitely more travel. I've been pretty happy with my current set up. Who knows.. I'll want to change it I'm sure eventually

Hmm.... I seem to have found a solution to cutting your fenders or rigging up your snorkel to fiberglass........ SAS then run 35s... or 37s...

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
With LT, you would probably need a bump stop to limit the up travel to what you currently have in order to fit the 35's. You would get more down travel, but change in up travel (unless you have more room to cut). Why not upgraded your coil overs to midtravel?

Also, you ever consider bushwacker fenders? Im not much of a fan but they don't look bad with 35's.
