^^^^ What he said.... if I was going to have a shop around here touch my truck for this sort of thing, Mincz would be the place.

What year truck you have? I just lifted my 2013 about 3 inches and Im 6' 3". Its a little tall for me getting in but thats not what I was concerned about. You will get a much better suspension with a 3 inch lift versus a 6 inch.

I ended up doing a 3 inch ULK from toytec but I think I would have been happier with the Icons on this page. The OME lift is great too if you are on a tighter budget.

As far as tires. I run KM2s with factory wheels and could not be happier. Noise is not bad but you know they are on! Gas milage is about the same as factory. No rubbing no trimming! They are great on the trail. The coopers are another option in this tire size.

I havent dealt with Minzc tire but they do have a good rep.

6" ProComp lift from the dealer, slow build in progress

DO NOT GET A 6" DROP BRACKET LIFT (Pro-Comp or Fabtech) you will be severely disappointed; I know I have one. Here are my reasons:

    1. If you intend to off road, the drop bracket does nothing for your ground clearance even though you can clear 35s.

    2. If you think you will not have to fender trim when the 35s and the lift are installed, you are sadly mistaken; I rub turning into my driveway.

    3. The 6" lift raises your center of gravity, not good if you intend to off road. I have to worry about getting off camber a lot more than guys running the 3" lift and 35s.

    4. Options to tweak the suspension are limited when you go to the drop bracket route, without forking out ALOT of $$$$$$$.

    5. If you want underbelly protection (BudBuilt, All-Pro skids, etc.) you are shit of luck. You better know how to fabricate your own, because you will not find any aftermarket.

These are all things I learned AFTER I bought my rig from the dealer with the lift and tires installed. I foolishly convinced myself that the deal I got out the door was a better deal than the same year non-lifted, stock tire TRD Off Road model I could of had for the same price; lesson learned the hard way. I still wheel the truck and have plans to continue building it but hindsight is 20/20 and wish I would have went a different direction.

My advice lurk this forum and threads, ask questions (not the "what should I do?" type but rather the "what works?", "why did you choose Brand X over Brand Y?"), and do your own work on your rig with the help of the friends and bonds you will make here on TW. You will save money, learn a lot about your rig, and make some awesome friends that will be there in a pinch for you and will not steer you wrong.

^^ all true. I had problems with my brackets moving around screwing up my alignment if I went offroad. Removed my 6", welded in a new x-member and went 3"

Got a lot of slop in it.. Like I can litterally shake the driveshafts by hand... The trucks got 160,00+ and I know it's never been replaced just had the zirk fittings around it greeted for maintenance! I'm not surprised it's worn out.. I hadn't really noticed it till I got all of the lift installed and then got a good bit of rear end vibration, got under there and checked everything out, found all the slop in the bearing..

I probably shouldn't really be goin on the trip next weekend but the insurance money I got recently is holding me over and I NEED to get outa the rents house for a bit... This hole being done with college thing is awesome, living with them again on the other hand... That shit sucks!

No I haven't bothered with any of it yet. I knew going into the lift that the bearing was worn and also that my rear blocks will have to go pretty soon (like 3 months er less) for an ALL or maybe a whole leaf pack, I figure then I'll do all the adjustments to the driveline and until then I'll be fixing the little things like that bearing and maybe shims for it...

Thanks for the input guys. I've been looking at 3 inch lifts now. I figure with the 3 inch kit and 33 inch tires it would lift around 4-5 inches. Does that sound right? Plus the 3 inch is better on the bank account at this time. I was looking at the following lifts does any of them seem to be better than the rest?

Also on the pro comp lifts why is the one with the rear blocks more expensive than the add a leaf one? Wouldn't you want an add a leaf over blocks?
