Has anyone ever attempted to install a smaller cb unit like the Uniden Bearcat 988 under a CD deck in the 1st gen dash? It looks like a small cb could fit right below it. Just wondering. Thanks.

Lots of people have done it. The Uniden 510 or 520 is a perfect fit.

Here's how I mounted mine with the plate/knobs that came with the 510

Yeah, I prefer it being in the ash tray since I don't use it. Then I can use the lower din under the radio for switches...

Haha you asked for something, he posted links to it. You obviously didn't even bother going through the link he posted and said it wasn't it, which it was. So he linked specific posts for you. So you get sarcastic with him for helping. Makes sense

You could have just thanked him for helping you out instead of ignoring you like others have so far ;)

    Thanks Brent.

To the OP. You asked for help, got it then didn't even bother to look at it. Obviously, I wasted my time. If you expect people to respond to posts asking how to do something when a simple search would have yielded the information, then you'll find your time here a bit frustrating.

I looked deeper into your link and found it and realized that I shouldn't have posted that second post. My bad I should have come back and said nvm. But then you had to come out and say "hmmm yeah thanks for looking though" really? you have to be like that? Thanks for the link though man you gave me exactly what I wanted.

    Check the TTORA Garage Section....
Surprised the OP could not find anything on CB mounting locations.
FYI, mine is under my head unit .
    I have a Cobra 18 WX-ST II
Just make sure it is no larger than DIN sized.
I also used a zip tie to wrap around my CB and my head unit...to prevent vibrations.

I mounted a uniden pc122xl under my head unit with about a quarter inch of space on each side with the cb centered under head unit. I cut small pieces of black foam to fill in next to my cb. I can post a pic if anyone would like to see how it turned out.
