Aloha Brother!... I just PM'd ya back. Man you got a sweet ride yourself!!! I'll be modding away for awhile myself. Just gotta take my time and brainstorm my ideas. I love your front bumper btw! I'll prob go that way myself. And also, your bushwackers are hot on my list! Did you mount them yourself? I might hire your services...haha I definitely want to get some of those...

My Taco is only a few weeks old, but I'm off to a running start...haha Installed the Fabtech spacer lift for now until I can decide on what Shock/coil combo I want to settle on. Seems like all I do when I get home these days is go online and look for my next add-on...haha I'm sure all the members here can relate... I'll stay in touch Bra!

    Aloha...Rick

P.S. Adorable daughter you have!!! I am a single dad myself with a 10 yr old daughter. She's the Bomb!:)

Hey Rick, you are off to a huge start! Honestly, I really liked the clean look when my truck was just lifted with the wheels and tires before I put on the bumpers and flares. How yours is right now. It really looks great. I would have kept my truck that way but I really like off roading so my truck kept evolving. I installed everything on the truck myself. I don't like the bushwackers much actually. They look good, but all those bolts are just for show. It's only held on by a few screws in the bottom, so they can rattle pretty loudly when wheeling. The hardest part is getting off the stock flaps with destroying the plastic clips. Let me know if you need anything :)

Btw, my daughter just made 10 also!

Looks awesome! Just greased my u joint for the rear shaft, wondering if you did the front yet? Can't seem to get a good angle for the fitting. Maybe I'll just have to drop the driveshaft to get to it. Wondering if there were any tricks to it...

No, I haven't greased that one yet. This is mostly for my UCAs. They need to be greased all the time of they get real squeaky!

Question for ya as you have been in contact with a lot of other Taco guys. So, I mentioned that I am running a 3" Fabtech spacer lift. The ride is a little bumpy on uneven roads (You know...da kine like we have in Oahu...lol)! Definitely not the OEM ride which I expected anyways.

Would going with a new shock/coil setup (Billy 5100/Icons) provide a smoother ride with a lift over the spacers?

    Anyone can chime in here...

I never been in a truck with a spacer lift, but yeah, spacers and blocks are supposed to be stiffer. Do you have blocks in the rear or AAL?
My Fox shocks are definitely stiffer than stock, but still smooth over bumps. I usually hammer the speed bumps :D
I live in Hawaii Kai too, so we should meet up someday at Sandys or something. You can check it out. Also, don't know how you feel about trail pinstripes on your new truck, but there is another Peacock Flats meet coming up again soon!

Damnit...I knew I should have dropped dime on the new shocks when I did the spacers. It is bumpier. I don't mind stiff...just the bumpy feeling of the spacers irks me a bit...lol If you're around tomorrow, I'm free to meet at Sandys. My daughter has swim practice from 9-10 and after that I'm free. I can PM you my phone..:)

I've been to Peacock flats before! I use to go with a bunch of Off-roaders up there a few years ago. Great 4x4 area!

Shoots! let me know if you guys don't mind a 4th wheel. I can show you my aluminum brackets too :D

And those frame plates look great! So you weld to the plates and bolt them to the frame with a ton of bolts?

how long does that usually take to do? and afterwards how bad will the alignment be? is it something that i'd need to head down to get it aligned the very next day?

Alignment is pretty bad right after a lift. Usually lots of positive camber. If he gets a hold of a good spring compressor, it'll be pretty quick.

I didn't get the fronts, the bushwacker come pretty close to the tire. Not much room there now. When I get my sliders, I might weld on a bracket to hold some kind of mudflap. They will be fully plated anyway. I still need too get the spacer for the inside hole on the rear flaps.

Yep! I'll let you know. Might be during truckfest tho. Yeah, the frame plate should allow for a fully bolt on, no drilling through the frame slider.

Here are the Proven Design Products mudflaps. Pretty stiff, but flexible.
