Does the Ipod wiring and backup cam wiring go into that 28 pin connector as well? Does the 08 models come with the backup cam wiring already ran to the back?

iPod wiring? You mean like a USB port.

As for the backup cam, that I'm not sure off cause my 08 didn't come with one. Backup cam wasn't an option or standard until MY 09 and above.

Thats probably it, the USB I think. I guess the backup cam will have to be ran to the back and all the way to the front.

It would be nice if you could just buy that part instead of the whole switch. I ended up just adding another switch off to the side. Its not perfect but it works.

If you want to add a USB port, there's a mod for that. I added one to mine.

As for the camera, I also added one to my truck but still finding a way to run it to the monitor. I'm pretty sure it's possible, just have to find which wire(s) to tap into.

Hey sorry for jumping in this thread but I new to TW and I just bought a 2014 trd sport DC. I have the entune touch screen with out nav. I am wanting to upgrade to alpine ine928hd. with the perfect fit plug and play. is there a plug for my reverse camera on the back of oem head unit. Or will I have to do the camera mod under the driver side dash. I am hoping there is a plug in back of head unit that will plug into alpine for camera. Thanks for the help. This seem to be the best forum about the 2014 head unit!!!!

You'll need an adaptor of some sort. The camera leads are built into the harness that connects to the radio in your truck. It's not a separate connector.

I've been trying to find the solution for this also. I've had my new head unit installed for 4 months now with no backup camera. There is currently no harness available for the 2014 tacoma camera. I'm trying to find someone to provide the information of the wires that I need to splice into. I am fine with hard wiring it at this point. Someone has to know the answer to this.

I was corresponding with eBay user ckremernimrod1 who sells Toyota cameras and could put the new larger plug on to attach it to the 2014 tacoma radio. The radio plug went from (I think) a twelve pin plug to a 24. The wires connect to the same 4 pins on the left side of the now wider plug.

I can not confirm this will work because I haven't tried it but if I wanted to add a backup camera to this Nav unit I would do it like this....

    BackUpCamera_zpsc19e0e4a_965fb37a0f84d93538711f0d66a42a0c3dcd3285.jpg

This is not a plug for my thread, I think we should keep posting pertinent information here but if you need help with getting the 28 pin connector and pins you can look at my post here.

    I hope this helps.

Edit: In an attempt to compile more information, if you are interested in how I added a voice switch to a 2013 tacoma you can see my step by step here.

So basicly that pdf was just for the 28 pin connector. Okay everything makes total sense now. I just wasn't sure what pin went where and it list a bunch of connectors so that made it confusing.

You also might have noticed that the N26 (24 pin) connector and N25 (28 pin) connector use the same female pin which is part number 1674311-2.

Has there been any update on the 2014 controls working as they should in the 2013 yet? I am extremely interested in this and am waiting to hear back from FLTrucks to buy the nav unit and the controls as soon as i know that it works as it should from the factory and how to wire it. Thanks for all you guys do that are experimenting and spearheading this project.
