WD40 is a friction modifier as in it decreases friction through lubricity. The last thing you want is accessory belts or pulleys having less friction. Usually a squeal is a sign of a problem or a problem coming as new belts don't squeal. Most belts are inexpensive and some don't take much to change either while some can be a royal PITA but most all will leave you stranded somewhere if it goes. Generally I consider a squeal as a thankful warning sign that something is going to fail and replace it before it does so. The alternative is you don't keep up with your maintenance regularly and there is no squeal and then one cold/dark/rainy night you're out on a back highway when it lets loose leaving you and your family stranded. They're cheap rubber parts and sometimes they fail sooner than they should and it's not always mileage related either. If it were me, I'd replace it.

This generally works too but is most likely a band-aid fix for a real problem that could go boom!

Depending on the type of "squeal" being heard it could be a bearing or an AC clutch going out. But as Ost suggests the preventative maintenance option is highly suggested above the band-aid fix.

Hmmm...I'll have to look into it more closely to see what it is..but at 28k miles, I really shouldn't shouldn't have any squeaky belts/bearings

In Colorado's dry climate with cold winters and hot summers it's not absurd to think that you have an accessory belt starting to fail. It shouldn't really be failing yet but it's not outside of the realm of possibilities. There's a reason that manufacturer's warranties don't cover them.

FWIW anytime I've had a squealing serpentine belt it's been some component in the belt path failing and creating more resistance than it should have (like an idler pulley or something)
The only time I've had a bad belt cause a squeal was on much older engines with the old v-shaped belts.

That said, I don't even know what my tacoma's belt looks like much less your tundra, I'm just guessing that they're the flat, ribbed serpentine belts that everything seems to have nowadays

Well after 3 TacomaWorld members and 3 sign placed out in town I was unable to replicate my TRD decals. Ended up just not doing the white on the mtns and paying $25 for a set from Fast Signs.

It could go away forever but will likely return. Drive the truck until it returns and see if you can pinpoint the point of origin. That could be another 100 miles or it could be another 10k miles. Who knows? Welcome to car ownership. ;)

Most likely humidity related as to when the squeak sounds off. If its serpentine I'd check tension first and look for cracks. Either tighten if needed or replace but your mileage suggests its not that old.
