Wow - I logged onto the board expecting to see tacos gone wild over the frame inspections from papa Toyota. Nothing! Well, mine's in, waiting on the verdict now.

Not exactly what I commented about. These campaigns usually cause a lot more activity on the main feed. I guess in a way that's a good thing.

Wow! Got my 2006 4x4 SR5 2 years ago with about 62k. The chassis looked a little suspect around the welds. Has almost 70k today and I'm reading about chassis rust issues. Hope something positive happens cause really like the truck.

I don't think Toyota is fighting it to much at least not in Ma. Everyone that has a rust issue is getting a under coat or a new frame job.

Mine passed the integrity test, so it got coated for protection. Toyota did good on this.

I feel left out. In canada in bc and nothing yet for the canadian trucks. My 08 has a lot of surface rust. Planning on wire wheeling and painting it before winter. Would like it if toyota would do it for me.

I'm surprised they haven't included you. Canada is still north of Maine, eh? :)

The reason it doesn't seem like such a big deal, as Taco owners are unfortunately used to it. It has been going on for 12 years!

As much as a like Toyota's, I find it disappointing that an issue this big (and also several others) can plaque a model not only from year to year but generation to generation.

Thank Dog that I had my '06 Taco in to the "Corrosion Free" center right away when new. Been doing it every 18 months and the guy says it still looks like new under there....

Over 8 years of driving in this salt and Calcium Chloride covered roads here...I'm still doing OK...!!

No thanx to Toyota... but the real thanx goes to CORROSION FREE........

What is the "Corrosion Free" centre? I have had my truck sprayed at least once a year (several years twice) and it looks OK, but far new.

Mine is in Virginia...but it was a PA truck. Wondering when it will be our turn. Both VA and PA are on the list...I do have surface rust....nothing like swiss cheese, but I'm not touching it until Toyota looks at it. My 06 4Runner looks pristine compared to my 06 Tacoma.

"Corrosion Free" is a brand name for rust proofing we have here.... it's like Rust Check, or Krown.....

    Check out this site... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey2o_eZfoWw

The stuff is sprayed into the doors, etc...some holes drilled, if necessary... It is a great product and actually displaces water out of your door seams, etc... Should be done every 18 months up here in the great white (and salty) north.....

I'm a total believer in this stuff men...

I've been doing it for the last 5 vehicles... no rust problems....

My '06 Taco is beautiful underneath... it would have holes all through it if I had not done this, I'm sure....
