Why exactly are front spacer lifts bad?

    No, that's a bump stop failure from improperly sized bump stops for your setup. A coil spacer with a correct bump stop doesn't create that problem.

    And I believe the OP is talking about top plate spacers, not coil spacers. Coil spacers would completely defeat the purpose of him wanting top plate spacers, to keep the factory ride quality...

    You're saying that occurred because a spacer lift was installed and setup correctly regards to suspension travel and flex and the vehicle was in conditions that are acceptable given its specific suspension setup?

    That is not.the case.

    I don't care to renew this discussion with another poster. OP has lots of reading material to do and opinions from both sides. Time for bed.

    The price of the spacer lift is not why I asked about it. I just don't like the idea and results of lifting a truck via preload. Everyone and their mom suggests the 5100's but that's As crappy way to gain lift by sacrificing ride.

    This is tw, you're going to get more dislikes than likes. Of you ask for an opinion, you're basically going to get people telling you how to spend your money and how they would build your truck.

    All in all, it's your money and your truck. There is nothing wrongwith sspacer lifts if you just drive it on road. End of story

    No, only ridden in one set at 1.75". I had OR coils on my last truck and have read they get too stiff preloaded.

    Use stock coils, set to .85" ride better than stock and now ur level

    Every spring gets stiffer when having a preload. If you really want something that rides smoother, then kings or icons. Like the other guys say. Why go cheap on a 30k truck. But same guy run 5100s and not kings or icons? Or what's the other saying do it right the first time, but buy 5100s? Or buy once cry once, but buy 5100s?

    Running 2.5 in spacer up front and 1.5 in in rear. It rides exactly the same as it did before I lifted it. Just wanted it for looks. The only 4x4 driving I do is wet grass and snow :)
