Yeah whenever I turn mine off (all the time) it still feels like there is something still going on. Im not a fan of it and I belive thats the reason I crashed my truck

 

well ive been problem free since i did the mod almost 3 years ago.. idk why all of a sudden today it kicked in..

 

Lead foot and you saw the chance for a nice fossil and forgot about the super charger.

 

ECU must have registered one or both of your front wheels had stopped or too slow for the speed ( like you're in a spin or black ice or snow ) and is tied into the ABS sensor at the wheels.

You'd need to disable the section of the Anti-Lock Brake feature that receives input from the sensors to fully disable the ECU. If the ECU constantly receives the signal it is looking for it will think all inputs are within range. Do you know a tuner who could crack into your ECU to disable it completely ?

 

Went off the road at sycamore yesterday from that damn ABS kicking in......right at the entrance on that last curve coming out. Was in 2wd with a slight drift and fucker kicked in and caused me to head directly offroad and into the brush downhill. Luckily I was able to pump the brakes and regain some control at the end. Scared the fuck out of me and a buddy.

ABS is the devil. I want to do ABS kill switch mod.

 

I just pulled my fuse

 

that abs bs almost killed me a couple of times

 

Of all people I would figure you to have this done with all of the electrical work you've done on yours

 

Thats probably the first mod I'm going to do when I get a new truck if it has abs

 

So I know nothing about electrical and still confuses me looking at the write up

Does it work the same by just pulling that fuse temporarily?

Does 4hi disable it or only 4lo locked? I don't notice it in 4hi but maybe that's because the trucks more controlled and less squirmy?

 

I prefer the switch because I still want ABS on the street. There are a few write-ups with pictures out there.

If so and you've experienced this mod working correctly and as it sits it is not working today could it be that your ground connection might need cleaning as there might be too much resistance and not earthing properly ? ? ? That or possibly road vibration has caused one of your other connections to not contact properly. Provided of course you have the E-Locker otherwise I'll go away now . . .

 

you can pull the fuse and it will turn on your abs light. It won't effect 4 hi or 4 lo in anyway. some people prefer to be able to turn it on and off when switching from street to offroad or what have you. I personally don't like it at all so I am fine with not having the fuse in ever.

 

I almost went off a mountain road twice because of my abs so I pulled over removed the fuse then and there and haven't had it back in since

There are a few different versions of this mod depending on model and year. So make sure you get that part right before you go and start pulling shit apart.

 

Question, how do you check that 4wd is working on a truck?
