I kept the CB radio I had in my old Jeep. I have a K40 antenna also. So, I'd like to see how some of you have your CB's and antenna's mounted. Just need to see some for ideas on where to mount mine. PICs are manitory.

    Thanks

i did mine a bit different than other people do. i mounted mine on the tranny hump on the drivers side. i found that i can look straight down and see the channel and change whatever i have to without trying to read upside down and the speaker is pointed out so its not speaking into the tranny
    100_0029_6819e6705cafb300f1f7d631acab5e33d00c327d.jpg

here is how i mounted it. just cut a slit into the carpet/foam and then use the u shaped bracket and slide it under there. no wiggle and it is nice and low and out of the way

    100_0021_fd878b46e6fdd8c65aececa02c98aa56bebc21cd.jpg

and here is how i used to have my antenna. i got a tool box so i sanded it down where it rusted and repainted it. i would not recommend doing it like this because the bed there is very flimsy and its not a real good ground. its much better on the side of my toolbox

I have the same exact CB. I'd love to mount it there, but I have the stock 2000 radio/tape/CD unit which is very big....:( That CB with my K40 antenna really puts out. A great combo.

Basicly we have the same CB, so far, looks like a good spot. I'm going to tinker with it today.

I know once I mount this thing, I'll find a better spot, so keep the pics comming...:D

Connor what'd you use for a filler plate on your CB? I had mine mounted where the ashtray was, but whenever I remount mine I'm thinking about mounting it how yours is (single din CD with CB and places for switches under it)

I would really read up on that. From what I can gather, it will really reduce your reception. I know its clean, and it WILL work, but from what I have read, if you want good performance you need to mount the antenna seperately from the AM/FM. Just my $0.02...

the only info i can find on it is from this thread:
    http://forum.ih8mud.com/electronic-...enna-splitter-firestik-ar-1a-match-maker.html

i'll be mating it to a 5' whip so I'm guessing it'll work out fine for me.

How do you guys mount the mic? Do you use velcro? Or is there a bracket that the little knob goes into?
