I am on my way to joining the Taco club and really stoked about it. Been lurking here for long time and just getting my Taco legs set and wanted to see if the experts here can help out.

I am looking at mostly 2013-2014 Tacomas Saturday, but one is a 2015 and a color that I am really drawn to.

Do you think there is room to work this price a bit more?

What have others paid in similar TRD configs/options for 2015 2WD DC Pre?

Many thanks for you help. Your advice may move the Taco needle this weekend one more blip :D

You might be able to get it down to $30,000 even. Maybe a tad less but that would be tough as these trucks hold their value and disappear from the lot quickly. Just my $0.02. Best of luck in your search!

Agreed - looking at 4 this weekend and we will see. Hoping the power of the "I will take this off the lot today at $_______" to get the sales rep to make something happen. I mean worse case, there are a TON of them out there, etc. Stay tuned!

After looking at about 4 2WD and 4WD....started to like the lighter weight of the 2WD by mid day. Prices for used were all consistent and there was little wiggle room. Then I kept the best for last and went in looking at one I really wanted...a used 2014 4WD DC in blue with JBL and already was being purchased. As I was leaving from a long day, the sales rep offered me a deal on a new 2015 2WD DC TRD that I simply could not pass up. The color was 3rd on my list, but honestly was too good to let go. Have a set of running boards (that I negotiated into the deal) being installed tomorrow as part of the deal. Just need to find a good tonneau now :D

And only has 30 miles on the ODO so far. Loving the taco!

Is this THE BluePotato, builder of one of the most exquisite Miatas in the country?

If yes, double welcome! If not, welcome anyway!

Depending on your goal for how you'd use the tonneau, I've found my Extang tri fold to be perfect for me.

Looks clean, removes easily with one person to allow me to carry bikes and kayaks, reinstalls in a few minutes, can be partially opened (2/3s) to carry objects that will fit that configuration.

Holy sh*t! Small world and yes, I am now taco. Still have the 92 sunburst. And a 1974 Mini...go figure.

Bill - where did you buy your tri-fold tonneau? I saw one and fell in love with the weight and functionality. What you driving now?

I bought my tri fold locally. I picked the truck up used ('13 with 8.5k) last October, and it had a Leer glass bed cover. Actually quite nice, IF you wanted a truly waterproof, lockable, rigid cover. I didn't.

I wanted to move quickly. I needed to get prepped for winter flats fishing which means hauling two 'yaks and gear, and the hard cover wasn't part of that plan. And uber annoying to remove/store. So I went to the local Leer dealer, where I suspected it came from, and he gave me an adequate trade allowance for something I considered to be 'free'.

My truck is nothing special. It's a base + accessory package Access cab, 2.7 auto. So it's what we call a 5 lug. But its absolutely perfect for my purposes. I don't need lift, I don't need tires, don't need 4wd, etc.

As is is great for me. Of course I've not left it alone, but mostly just small personalization's, and function enhancements, nothing to show off or make a build thread over.

I sold the Montego street/autox car a little over a year ago after 12 years and 60k of use. 100k total. Low for a '96. Still looked fantastic. See below.

The buyer has continued it's care. His eventual goal is to use it as a platform for an electric car. He teaches that now. He is the Alan Phipps mentioned in this article http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/palm-beach/boca-raton/fl-boca-e-car-test-drive-20150306-story.html

Also still have an 11 yo Highlander that serves very well as a highway runner and local people hauler. Even at 100k I find it as pleasant to drive as it was new.

Look forward to seeing how you tweak your truck. Maybe you can fit the Mini in the bed for going to shows. :rofl:

Great to see she ended up in good hands. Thanks for the info on the bed tonneau. I know looking for one will be an education in itself. Now I just need to get lost on this site and start to plan.
