Diff Breather Mod Inquiry

    Hi everyone!
    I want to do the diff breather mod on my truck but found a little discrepancy. PiercedTiger calls for the union fitting #
    $8 90404-51319 Toyota Union - 90404-51319
    90404-51319    .

    Although both are calling for the same breather union (#
    $6 90930-03136 Toyota Breather Plug - 90930-03136
    90930-03136), which union fitting is the right one for my Taco 09?

    you can just go to a local plumbing or hardware store and get (1) 1/8" NPT female X 1/4" hose barb and (1) 1/8" NPT male X 1/4" barb. (1) 5' piece of 1/4" hose. i think it cost me all of $6.50. you can re-use the stock breather vent if you go this route.

    The most important thing in that whole process, is getting a knurled fitting (or union) that will thread into the diff. The threads is what's important.
    Everything else is adaptable. The hose, and hose clamps are easily changable to fit.

    As RCBS already mentioned, you can re-use the old breather if you want. Make sure its not clogged (breathe through it and make sure it'll pass air).

    the thread pitch is 1/8"-27 national pipe. 27 threads per inch of length. pipe fittings are actually larger in real diameter than 1/8". O.D. is right around 5/16" on 1/8" diameter thread. i don't know why it's this way, other than to confuse things.

    don't forget your locker breather tube, if you have one. you can use a barbed tee fitting to hook it right into your differential's new hose.
