    Hi, My 2014 regular cab is prewired... I bought a toyota camera and plug the 6 pin camera to my 6 pin connector but it only has 4 wires. I put the key in the truck and turn it on and no picture when I put the truck in reverse. The camera is not Tacoma specific, but just wonder if I need the other 2 pins or if the camera housing is longer than the connector. Can anyone tell me the gap...I am thinking of making it shorter so there's good contact. Other than that...not sure why the camera isn't working.

    Does it require the dealer to turn it on? Here's a picture of the gap... can someone help and tell me if theirs is closer or about the same gap I have? What is the size of this gap? Please let me know. Thanks!

    Does anyone know the electrical pin out of these 6 pins or the 4 wires harness?

    I think you need another cable as per the link above was discussing.

    The 4 wire pinout is as follows:

    Black = CB+ Should be 6 volts power to the camera.
    White = CV- Negative Video Signal.
    Red = CV+ Positive Video Signal.
    Blue = CGND Shielded Ground

    Hi Jimmyh thanks for that...you know I missed that detailed about prewired but only 1 wire going to the cab. I will check later today... damn that sucks if this is true. I thought I had a backup camera in 10 minutes...now will take a while to run the wires. I will report back my findings...thanks for the help

    Anyone know what that 1 wire is for going to the front of the truck? Is it video or power? I can run the other 3 wires... one is ground that I can tie to chassis. So there's 2 more wires to figure out.

    Thanks alot for the help!

    Now I got to find out the pintout at the radio end...so I can connect the 3 or 4 wires it needs.

    Just checked this... damn...I only got one wire going to the front. Toyota really doing some silly joke making the tailgate wires 4 and going to the cab 1 wire. Now I have to make or buy a harness from the bed to the cab. Thanks again for pointing out the issue Jimmyh.

    Anyone know what that 1 wire is for....if it's video positive, maybe I can just wire what I need into the tailgate instead of running all the wires to the cab?

    @imom , Just for my curiosity, does your Reg Cab have the Convenience Package?

    I believe it doesn't...just a basic truck I bought used...didn't have a choice really they stopped making them. I did find a solution...I will contact them and see if this is direct plug and play.

    Some reason their link goes to default page...so just copy and paste.
