That's what we're here for. You will find in this forum a very helpful community of enthusiast, both in their rides and in helping people make the right choice for their needs. I've never encountered the willingness to help each other on any other forum. Most times if a question has been asked members simply say 'search'. Not the case here on TW.

    In short your answer is:

884 coils with 5100s on all four corners which will give you a 2" lift. Set the 5100s at ZERO.

Check out post number two in this thread.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/884-885-886-please-help.384203/

If you look down and find part # 2884 (people on the forum only use the last four digits of the part number) (2) 884 (2) 885 and so on, you will see that the 884 coil is listed for the 4Runner/FJC and NOT the Tacoma. They work, people have them on their trucks and trey work. Your shop will tell you they are not listed for the Tacoma and they are correct, but they work.

The 885 is what is listed for the Tacoma but that will give you 2.5" of lift.

NOW are these coils going to settle? Yup, so you may eventually end up with 1.75" of lift using the 884 and 2" of lift using the 885 coils.

    Remember

884 = ~ 2" of lift when new once settle they could yield 1.75"

885 = ~ 2.5" of lift when new once settle they could yield 2"

In one of the links I posted for you someone is on 884 coils and still at 2". I can't remember if he mentions how long he's had them on though.

    Have fun.

I have 884 coils, 5100's set at zero and a Wheeler 3-leaf add-a-leaf installed on TSB leafs. Rides just a little stiffer than stock but I love it. I did have some alignment issues with the front end (caster ~1, Camber +1-ish, Toe 0), and my factory upper balljoints with 90k on them went to crap within 1000 miles of installing it so I have LR UCA's going on this weekend.

I went through Headstrong and Wheelers for the shocks, coils and AAL, total of $680. I bought new-ish TSB leaf springs with ~300 miles on them for $100. Hope this helps!

yeah around the 2inch mark is about max lift you can do in the front IF you do a similar 2inch lift in the rear as this will keep rake and make it harder to get desirable caster numbers.

I finally went with OME 2885 coils with Bilstein 5100s and a custom AAL for the rear. Tires will be 265/75/16 Toyo Open Country AT II.

    My Setup:

    Eibach 521600 2.5" Coil
ToyTec Alum. 0.5" Top Plate Spacer
    ToyTec Deaver AAL

Total Cost: $309 + $170 + shipping. My opinion is that this is one of the highest quality <$500 kits you can build.

    Eibach 112-620 1.6 Coils
Bilstein 5100 on all (4) corners
Front set @ 0.85" (approx. 2" of lift up front with the ARB giving some reduction from the advertised 2.4")
    1/4" Driver Top Plate Spacer
Icon 1.5" AAL w/TSB springs (probably ~2-2.5" of lift total)

I paid under $750 for everything (Eibach coils and spacer from ToyTec, 5100 and Icon AAL from DSM).

My caster numbers are low (around 0.9 to 0.95) and I probably should be running upgraded UCAs, but I haven't noticed any particularly troubling characteristics on the road/highway. YMMV.

Please note when you lift your truck you WILL run into vibrations, and some will drive you nuts. I had the very common 35-50 MPH vibration that I needed the ECGS bushing to remedy, so factor in another $175 for that (bushing, tool and shipping). I've still got something at 60 MPH that I haven't addressed, a take off vibe as well and all kinds of fun new noises which have been driving me nuts. I'll work through it and figure out what's going on, but it's not a set and forget deal.

I'm not trying to sway you to lift or not, but think long and hard if you want to open the can of worms that is lifting these trucks.

Does anyone have Eibach 112-620 coil springs with Bilstein 5100 front shocks ("0" setting - 1.6" lift), with 5100 rear shocks with no lift? I'm curious how this rides and if it will help level the truck. My main concerns are with shaking, stiff ride and how it handle bumps compared to stock Bilstein shocks and coils. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Gents, I was planning on a similar setup with 5100's on all four corners with 885's and swap out my stock leafs with OME dakars at this shop once I get home from Afghanistan in Nov. I told the owner what I was looking to get done as well as get a price estimate and this is what he responded back with. should I be concerned....

    "
Finally got word from ARB on those parts. OME coils can not be installed on non OME struts. So the complete OME suspension kit includes coils, struts, rear springs, rear shocks, ubolts and all hardware.

    $2250 + tax

That's parts, install, alignment, shop supply."

I was looking to do the same thing. but I've heard a few different sources prefer the OME shocks over the 5100's. and personally I'm saving up for the OME 2.5" lift with the 886 coils because I will be getting a steal bumper and winch.

BLUF: be concerned some Tacoma's come from the dealer with OME springs. and you can use the 5100's with the OME springs. I would install it myself, do a poor man, string alignment then go and get a real alignment.

He is wrong. You can definitely pair OME coils with bilstein 5100s. Some have said they prefer the OME struts over the 5100s for the ride. I personally have the OME 887s with 5100s and I think the ride is great. Up to you which route you want to take.

As for the price on your full OME setup...seems a bit high to me but not much. Install should be no more than 5 hrs so there's about $500, alignment maybe another $70. The full OME kit at headstrong offroad is $1130. I'd say the quote you received is a good price if they include some new UCAs, which you should get. Do you have the cost breakdown?

FWIW, devil dog, I am not mechanically inclined and I was able to save myself a good chunk of change by installing my 5100's on all four corners. I found it to be very easy using information from this site. The only hard part was finding a machine shop that was willing to swap my OEM coils onto the new shocks. If you're willing to put forth the time and research (took me about 5 hours because I'm a noob), it's money you can save towards your next mod. Just my 2 cents. Also, thank you for your service.

ARB (OME) will say this as they want to sell their own product like the struts vs some other brand, this just makes sense from a business standpoint. That said the OME coils pair real well with the 5100. I know people are saying they like the ride of the OME struts/coils better, but honestly how many of them have run both set-ups.

I have a 2015 dcsb 4x4 and I'm about to purchase the 5100 kit with 885s, anyone have issues with alignment w/o new UCAs?

Ok, I guess I'll have to see once I get them put it. Good thing firestone has a lifetime alignment plan for around $200.
