I know this is in here somewhere but I can't find it and I've been doing research for DAYS. It's like going to a fucking tile store with my wife......

2015 Tacoma SR5 is my ride. I'm getting the 5100 setup which works with factory OEM coils but the ride is harsh, so I've read. I don't like doing things half assed so if I SHOULD change the coils I want to do it now.

I will not be running anything bigger then a 265/75/16 tire. I like the level look of 1.75 up front but will be adding a AAL to help with the factory sag look. Yes I have the 4pack springs in the rear but I will be carrying a canopy and all the camping gear that goes with a family of four, plus four bikes hanging off the hitch. I may have to go to 2" front and whatever in the rear to level the truck because at 1.75" front, the truck seems to be level with the factory spring pack but I don't want to deal with sag later or when I'm loaded up.

Here is my problem. I see all these numbers like 884, 885, 886 etc being thrown around but when I go to ARBs website and fill in the blanks about what I have on the front end of my truck, which is a factory front bumper and that's all it will ever be, they give me a kit with 2885 coils. The only other option they give no matter how much weight I add, bull bar or bull bar with winch, is the 2886 coils.

So where are people getting the other part numbers like (2) 884 and (2) 887 from?!?!?!?!?!?

Don't get me wrong, I could spend days on here just looking up info and I love doing it but crunch time is coming on Wednesday so I'm looking for some help and answers that I can't seem to find.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!

884/885/886/887 refer to the OME part number 2884, 2885, etc. 884/885/887 are all 590lb springs and work well with stock bumper/no armor. 886 coils are very stiff and designed to be used with a heavy plate bumper/winch combo and/or additional armor like skids and sliders.

On a DCSB V6 4x4, the coils translate to the following lift heights (approximate):
    884 - ~2"
    885 - ~2.5"
    887 - ~3"
    886 - 2.5" - 3" depending on amount of armor

I have 884 coils with 5100 struts. That combo gave me just under 2". The ride is stiffer than stock, but not jarring. Less front end dive and less roll in the corners.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. BTW, I've been on Acurazine and MKVI Golf Forum when I had those cars. This forum IS the best forum I've been on for help. Any other forum I've belonged to where people have asked questions that have already been asked, just get flamed and dismissed. Thanks for all the help. The Toyota Tacom community on this forum is outstanding.

I'm trying to decide between 885 and 887 right now. I run stock coils on 5100s set at 2.5 right now and regret it a lot. It rides super rough. I just put an All Pro AAL in the back and it gave me 2.5 inches instead of the 1.5 I was expecting. Right now I have like .5 inches of rake and love it so I want my new coils to bring me right back to where I am.

That happens here as well. Most of the time I (or someone else) will just reply with the correct answer. Idk why dbags like to clutter up the forum with bs.

All I would need is a set of 884 coils, yes. My front end will never have anything on it except maybe a small bar to protect the painted bumper from people who can't parallel park. That said, the 884 could is listed for the 4runner and FJ?

I'm not gonna go 886 since my bumper is a hybrid and only weighs around 80 pounds. If it was a plate then I would. I've heard that without a lot of weight the 886 set up is super rough. I I'm stuck because 887 gives 3 inches to dcsb but I have an AC so it would give a little more but my bumper should bring it down slightly. I want right around 2.5 which I think 885s will get me since the AAL will probably settle a little lower than it is right now. I installed it Saturday.

They work for tacomas. 887 says the same.

886s is my vote. Ride is kind of rough but I ran 886s without any front weight or armor for a while before adding everything.

If you are looking for 2" of lift I think you just need to Ron those with the 5100s set at 0.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know. I've considered it but I've heard some bad things in the OME thread.

That's correct but compensate for 1/4" sag when they settle

886s with a 2" AAL. No armor or skids, just a rough ride. Ran like this for 6 months or so. I had the non-TSB leaf pack. If you have the TSB leaf pack I would do a 1.5" AAL
