Okay read over the thread. But this is only for replacing the third member. I thought you were replacing the entire axle? shouldn't this be just a plug and play per say? Removal of old axle. replace with new?

Lol yes, just like a motor swap. Take old one out and put new one in. Easy!

But yes straight forward swap. Basically doing a rear leaf spring swap. Kinda! Only thing is the rear ebrake cables...... If I remember you have to tear the whole rear drum apart and dismantle the rear brakes to change ebrake cable

Cut the old U bolts out. Makes it easier to get it out. And @357sig is right about the ebrake cables. You have to take them apart to get the axle off

    Too many to list
So I'll be there for sure on Sunday, around 9:30ish. Just to clarify, we need to (a) install the e-locker 3rd member into the axle that Large gave you, (b) do the axle swap and (c) do the harness....correct?

The first two are relatively "easy". 3rd member install is no problem, just take your time, the ebrake stuff is a bitch and a half but I've done that a couple of times and the axle swap itself is straightforward like Dennis said. I have no idea on the harness though.

Yeah you're right I forgot to include that I couldn't find a thread for the axle swap. I do have some instructions from Large though that I can post.

That sucks! So should I get new brakes at this point or what?
    ....and?? Tell us
I take my u bolts on and off all the time. Can't we just unbolt them?

That is correct! So no one has said every thing is easy, but everyone has said a different part will be easy. So it should all be easy!
    What about in the morning?
I have some that are not new, but still shiny. Those should work?

Yes to new brake shoes. Yes to new ubolts/ shiny ones

I did a few axle swaps. It is mentally easy if you think about it. But when doing it, it's a pita!! All the parts are heavy, you have two axles move around. Brakes are very tedious. And the end of the day. You will get beat up! Lol
