You don't need any additive, as it uses the brakes to mimic an LS Diff.

I know there's already a couple notes and one with tiny text, but could we explain the Sport LSD/ALSD/etc. diff thing a little better in the op and make it a little clearer? With like model years and such?

Have a quick question guys. I know the manual calls for 75w85 for rear and for some reason it's difficult to find that in stores. I am one who doesn't use the dealer as much as possible and I asked the service guy there if if would be ok to use 75w90 in the rear. His response which I already knew the answer was no, stick was is recommended in the manual. And he goes on to tell me that Toyota only recommends changed those fluids every 30k. I go on to tell him that my manual states every 15 k for front and rear and 30k for trans case. I am at 10k now and was going to go ahead and do the change due to the long weekend and was planning on changing the front and rear with RP 75w90 so it's an easy go in grab a few quarts of the same product and be out. What do you guys think? Will putting 75w90 in the rear hurt anything? And he was crazy to tell me that 15k was to early for a change unless I do a lot of towing. I don't but I do do some minor off roading, tow a boat during duck season and live in Washington where it rains all the time. I do t think it will hurt but what do you guys think. Is the dealer just trying to get Neto buy their products and service? A quick response will be truly great full since I am on my way to the store now. Thanks.

He also told me my manual was wrong! And he didn't like it when I told him then they gave me the wrong manual haha

I didn't think it would be a problem and I don't need it I have a 14' so I am good there. Thanks. I hate stealerships and try to avoid them at all cost. I know there are prolly some good ones out there but they are like robots.

Well for regular driving, it calls for 30k diff changes. Like he said 15k if you do a lot of towing or dirt driving. Occasional tow/dirt I wouldn't consider as the 15k route. If you live on dirt roads and it's an all day every day thing, or you have a trailer you haul every day for work, then that's another story.

Edit: Definitely won't hurt to change more often, but your money and your time. Do as you wish.

One other question. Does an 07 trd off-road have the limited slip diff? Is there anything special since it has the locker?

And just fill it with 3quarts? Seems to easy. Do you have to tourque the bolt to spec, or just tight like an oil drain plug?

Lowes has a kobalt torque wrench for 60 bucks. Life time warranty. If it breaks, gets out of specs take it back and they will replace it. Just bought mine the other day!

Does anyone know the part numbers for the plug gaskets? I know three of them are the same and one is different. I have a 14' sport BTW. Don't think it matters. Would rather order on Amazon and get a bundle if possible and not have to go to the dealer every time I need to change the diff and trans case oil.

Found on this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...er-case-oil-change-howto.147631/#post-2933081 over in the 2nd Gen Tacomas (2005-2015) forum.

Also, does anyone know where to buy quality replacement fill plugs for the front and rear diffs and transfer case. My TC and rear diff fill plugs are pretty rounded off and I hate hex bit bolts with a passion.

Researching Amazon I found this: http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyot...F8&qid=1438295840&sr=8-1&keywords=90430-24003

That looks to be the standard plug gasket for everything but the oil drain plug. Also on this page: http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyot...=1441591896&sr=1-4&keywords=differential+plug I found this:
