been hunting hard since october..shot my 9 point out of my climber on 10-9, and didnt see another deer out of it since. Went out this morning, had 5 come by..2 within bow range, but didnt want to take a baldy, plus they were on the smaller size..Oh well, still debating on wether to go out this afternoon or not..

Well my son and I hunted all day yesterday. We had a few does come in around 8 and my son got a 20 yard shot. Problem was they were feeding through so slow he had to hold his gun too long without a rest and he got a little wobbly I believe. Clean miss. We sure had fun though and plan to do it again this afternoon/evening. For 10 years old I'm sure impressed how he can hunt with me all day. We came out for 2 hours to eat lunch, but the rest of the day was spent in the woods enjoying each others company......(and also seeing who could fart the most):D

That is awesome Stan!! Congratulations!! Great buck with some excellent character....a kicker and a crab claw on the left side.:headbang: Nothing like the excitement and memory of actually altering the direction of a buck and bringing him right to your location. Great job.

Well, looks my son isn't going to score on a deer this year. We had a small buck too far out in the field, and bumped a few does on our way out last night. But I can tell you, him and I had some great time in the field together and his hunting skills are getting much better..........................I might get out a few times in late bow if the weather and work cooperates.

Seen three different bucks last Saturday. This Saturday is the gun opener and my kids will be packing their new 44 mag rifle and I will be packing the 44 mag pistol along with my bow. It's gonna be a great time!!

I posted my son's first deer in his own thread. What a terrific memory.

Hunted with both kids this weekend and never seen a deer. All the blazing guns have the deer run into deep cover. Going to bring out other tactics over the hoildays.

bone stock save for the block lift that came on it with the open country m/t.
good luck Hoosier, let us know. It's like summer here for the next couple days:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: and the wind is wrong, so much for going in the woods. I'm actually kinda:frusty: with this season, lack of activity in the woods, but that's hunting right?
