Hello! Has anyone done a ignition kill switch mod on a 1st generation Tacoma? My truck was broken into a few weeks ago. They popped the driver's side lock, but only took some money and a small camping saw. I live in Hawaii, so the risk of getting my truck stolen is very high. I don't want to find it in a cane field; stripped and burned out.
Specifically, What is the amperage or voltage for the wires to the ignition? Any siggestions for switches would be helpful too. Thank you.

I'm not sure which wire would be the best to use. Surely you could pick one that is low amperage so you don't need a proper relay. There are probably even 12v switches that you could control with an Android app. Here is an overview of the wiring diagram.

The complete factory service manual is in a sticky on the first gen page I think.

Thank you. I was looking at doing it from either the B-Y wire, the W wire, or the W-R wire. I was looking at a mod for a gen 2 tacoma. He spliced a switch into a green-black wire. But in other comments, it was suggested to use a Black-yellow wire. Here is the link for that thread.Kill Switch Mod Write Up. | Tacoma World

Something in the clutch-start-cancel circuit would probably be best since that's what that circuit does anyway.

That would be my choice, the Green wire 'downstream' from the clutch cancel switch (or PN switch if AT). Not sure what route that wire takes. Disables the starter, not the ignition.

Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
Maybe it is because I have a diesel background but I'd do a fuel pump kill switch.
