Not bad on those stock tires. Get any water inside? I checked my '04 Taco rear diff after submerging it on a creek run. No water penetration with no mod.

    nope
I haven't taken the rear end apart to check, but I doubt it. Also, no water in the doors. It gets passed the first seal but the inner door seat doesn't let anything in

Might want to check sooner than later. The cabin is an equal or positive pressure (depending on HVAC settings) whereas the rear end is more often than not negative pressure as soon as the hot pumpkin hits cold water. The air inside cools quickly and sucks air (or water if the breather is submerged) in through the breather until pressure is equalized. Remote breather is a truly functional cheap mod.

I have my garage door opener in there because I didn't want to take a home equity loan out for the HomeLink system.

No need to take anything apart. Just pull the fill plug when warm and pull a little out. It should be milky looking if water is present.

I designed it. It'll be for sale on Shapeways once I confirm that it fits, probably tomorrow morning. Uses a lot of material and printer space so it's not exactly cheap (~$35), once installed I may see some good way to lighten it up. Also planning one for the narrower Toyota style switches (3 across I think), and one for Carling.

    Done:

Here's the Shapeways link. Minimal markup, comes out a little cheaper than I remembered. I've tried 22mm x 32mm Toyota style switches from 2 different manufacturers as well as OEM, they all require minimal coaxing, fit very snug and won't move or rattle once installed.

Edit - I've received a couple of PMs from this post asking about the other Toyota style switches. There is currently progress on that (2/15) and it should be available soon. See this thread for further updates.
